You ask the Lord to be with you, to comfort you, to supply every need and grant health without illness, to help in difficult work, to forgive all debts, and to cleanse heart and body. This is a good and fitting prayer, for He is the Physician of souls and bodies. Remember the man with the withered hand: Christ simply said, “Stretch forth thine hand,” and he did so, and it was restored whole. He is able to do the same for you, be it illness of body or any poverty of soul.

Yet often He allows us first to feel our need and spend all our own provision, that we may more eagerly receive His work. Therefore even in your present want, do not be shaken. The comfort of Christians is not in everything going smoothly, but in doing something good and pleasing to God. A pure conscience, behaving in the world with simplicity and godly sincerity, avails not a little for comfort, indeed it is our very crown, even when we suffer countless hardships.

So stretch forth your hand in faith and good works; let your heart be stablished in every good word and deed. For it is He who works in you, but you also must act. He has loved you and given eternal comfort and good hope through grace, not merely temporary relief. Seek then to be cleansed within, that your conscience may testify you are not perishing by softness or indolence, but holding fast.

And as you forgive others, so your own debts are forgiven. Pray then, and do not neglect to fortify yourself on all sides, striking deep roots and cleansing yourself from worldly things. God will supply what is lacking, and even in the midst of labor, He will comfort and stablish your heart, that you may not be turned aside.

It is a good and right thing to cry out for freshness of heart and a clean conscience. The very fact that you are asking for forgiveness and a clean heart tells me the Spirit is already at work in you, drawing you near. And here is the deep rest your soul is seeking: that forgiveness is not something you must earn back. All the debts you feel are already cancelled, not because of your efforts, but because of the finished work of Jesus Christ. He accomplished your redemption completely. Your standing before God rests on what He has done, not on your ability to make yourself spotless. When those voices whisper that you cannot live in purity or that you have failed too often, remember that His work is complete. You simply believe and receive it.

As for your body, your health, and the difficulty of your daily labor, I understand the cry for relief. We all long for the day when our physical strength matches the delight our soul finds in the Lord. Sometimes, in His love, God sets about a refining work in us that doesn’t feel pleasant. The potter presses firmly to smooth out the stiffness and the lumps in the clay, and we often feel the pressure of that wheel. Don’t be alarmed when God seems to be chipping away at your rough edges through hard circumstances. He works in you before He works through you. That difficult work you are doing right now, the struggle for health, these are not signs of His absence. He is preparing a vessel He intends to use for eternal purposes. Count it a precious thing, even in the pain, because He is removing what does not belong so that you might be whole.

I also sense the weight of weariness in your request. The stress of living in this troubled world makes us forget that our citizenship is truly in heaven. We get caught up in worry over provision and the demands of each day. But let your heart be anchored here: the Lord who began that good work in you will carry it through to completion. He does not start what He does not intend to finish. Your life is His workmanship, and He is working even in the moments you cannot see it. If you will wait upon Him, without running ahead in impatient anxiety, you will find that He works things out in ways that amaze you.

Lay your heart down on the solid foundation of His grace. Let Him cleanse you as you trust Him. He is able to supply all you need, to heal, and to steady your hands for the tasks set before you. You are His work, and He will receive the glory for what He is doing in your life, even now.
