Need help

Anonymous

Beloved of All
I need money. My parents are old and mean and abusive. I need God’s help. I need a loan until I can get back to work.

We hear your cry for help, and our hearts ache with you in this difficult season. Financial struggles, especially when compounded by strained family relationships, can feel overwhelming. But we want you to know that God sees you, He hears you, and He is your ultimate Provider. The Bible reminds us in Philippians 4:19, "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." This promise is for you today.

First, we must address the pain you’re carrying from your parents. Abuse in any form is not God’s design, and it grieves His heart to see His children hurt. You are made in His image (Genesis 1:27), and your worth is not defined by their words or actions. We rebuke the spirit of fear, rejection, and oppression that may be trying to take root in your life. Jesus came to set the captives free (Luke 4:18), and that includes you. We pray for healing over your heart and for God to surround you with His love and protection.

Regarding your financial need, we encourage you to seek practical help while trusting God’s provision. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." Have you considered reaching out to your local church or Christian community for assistance? Many congregations have benevolence funds or resources to help those in need. You might also explore temporary work opportunities, even if they’re not in your usual field, God can open doors you never expected.

We must also gently remind you that while loans can be a tool, they can also become a snare if not handled wisely. The Bible warns in Proverbs 22:7, "The rich rule over the poor. The borrower is servant to the lender." Instead of focusing solely on a loan, let’s pray for God to provide in ways that bring true freedom and peace. Perhaps He has a creative solution you haven’t considered yet, an unexpected job lead, a skill you can monetize, or even a gift from someone moved by the Holy Spirit.

Most importantly, we want to lift you up in prayer right now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother/sister in need. Lord, You are Jehovah Jireh, our Provider, and we ask that You meet every financial need in this moment. Open doors of opportunity, soften hearts to help, and give wisdom in managing resources. We also pray for healing from the pain of abuse, restore what has been broken, Lord, and replace lies with Your truth. Remind them that they are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14) and that You are their refuge (Psalm 46:1). Surround them with godly community and give them strength to persevere. We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus, who paid the ultimate price so we could have abundant life. Amen.

If you haven’t already, we encourage you to surrender your burdens to Jesus. He invites you in Matthew 11:28, "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest." Salvation is found in no one else (Acts 4:12), and it’s the first step to experiencing God’s peace and provision in every area of life. If you’d like to pray to receive Christ, we’d be honored to guide you through that.

Lastly, we urge you to seek godly counsel, whether through a pastor, a trusted Christian friend, or a biblical counselor, to help navigate these challenges. You don’t have to walk this path alone. God is with you, and so are we. Keep pressing into Him.

We’re sorry you’re facing such crushing weight right now, financial pressure stacked on top of mistreatment at home is an exhausting, lonely place to be. What you’re describing sounds overwhelming, and we want you to know your safety and well‑being truly matter.

If you’re in immediate danger, please contact your local emergency services right now. You can also find a free, confidential helpline in your country at findahelpline.com. A trained listener can help you talk through what’s happening and think about safety options, you don’t have to carry this alone.

When money is tight and you’re desperate for a loan, the instinct to grasp at anything that might relieve the pressure makes perfect sense. At the same time, the abuse you’re enduring from your parents, especially when you’re already vulnerable, is not something you should have to just endure. A practical first step is to speak with someone you trust, a pastor, a mature Christian friend, or the helpline person, about what your home life is really like. They can help you sort out a temporary safe place to stay, even for a night or two, so you can catch your breath and plan without fear.

On the financial side, many local churches and Christian community organizations offer compassionate, practical help. Even if you don’t have a church home, you could reach out to a nearby congregation and ask whether they have a benevolence fund, food assistance, or connections to job‑placement help. You might be surprised how ready someone is to walk alongside you.

We’re praying with you now: Father, draw near to this person in their pain and confusion. Shield them from harm and open a door to a safe, steady place. Provide wise counsel and the right kind of help for their financial need, not just a quick fix, but true provision that leads toward stable work and peace. Quiet their anxious heart with the promise that they are seen by You. In Jesus’ name, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The cry of your heart rises to the ear of Him who sits upon the throne of grace, and He will not turn away. You speak of aged parents whose conduct wounds you; in this you are not alone. David, the youngest, was left in the fields while others feasted with the prophet, and he sang, “When my father and mother forsake me, then the Lord will take me up.” The Divine gentleness made his bed in his low estate, and the balm of that love healed his wounded spirit. Though they may be mean and abusive, yet the Lord sees, and His pity is exercised toward the oppressed. Does He not declare Himself a Father to the fatherless? He will not fail you, even when natural affection seems spent.

For your present need, remember the Divine sovereignty that orders every trifling circumstance of a believer’s life. He will not stop the ordinary run of business, nor alter the way in which the world goes on, and yet He knows how to help the poor, and to bless the struggling tradesman, and to bring up the righteous from deep distress. Your want of a loan is known to Him; none can hinder His hand from supplying every need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Plead His promise: “I will strengthen thee,” and though the recovery be slow, acknowledge in each increase of strength that the Lord has a new claim on your affection.

Do not be afraid of the sovereignty and omnipotence of Divine grace, but look to it as the last resource of a broken-down spirit. Mark how the Lord delivered David from his afflictions in various ways, not by miraculous fistfuls of gold, but by ordinary providences full of wonder. Divine interpositions come in the way of deliverance from floods of trouble. Have you not experienced them? How strikingly has God delivered some of us! He can raise up a friend, open a door of employment, or grant a seasonable gift. Wait upon Him in prayer; let your request be made known with thanksgiving, and in quietness and confidence shall be your strength.

Yet consider also the Divine discipline in this trial. As the eagle stirs up her nest, so the Lord may be teaching you to fly. The low tree, by Divine grace, shall flourish; the high tree, cut down by the axe of judgment, shall lay outstretched. Humble yourself under His mighty hand, and in due time He will exalt you. Though at present you feel that you cannot see your way, the Lord alone did lead Israel, and He will lead you. Trust in Him with all your heart, even when His way is in the sea and His path in the deep waters. “Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him.” This is the faith that brings the Divine presence to dissolve every difficulty.

Above all, seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness. The secret of the tabernacle is that the Divine Spirit can make a dunghill yield a diamond. He can save and provide in the most unlikely ways. Lie low before His footstool and cry, “Lord, I am oppressed; undertake for me!” Conscious of Divine authority, you may look upon your present hardship and say, “Thus saith the Lord, let my people go free”, free from the snare of despair, free from the grip of want. He will not lose your soul in the tumult; your name is graven on the palms of His hands.

Go, then, to your chamber and there wrestle with the Angel of the Covenant. Tell Him your parents’ unkindness, your empty purse, your weary frame. He knows the way of the wilderness, and He will send Abigail just at the right moment. The Divine love which snatched David from the paw of the lion and the bear is not wearied; it is the same yesterday, today, and forever. I pray for you that He may strengthen you, and that you may yet sing, “He hath delivered my soul from death, mine eyes from tears, and my feet from falling.”

You speak of a loan and a return to work, and these are not wicked desires in themselves. But consider the words of Job, who lost far more than any of us ever will. He did not say, "I need a loan to recover." He said, "The Lord gave, the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord." The evil one does not take your goods merely to make you poor. He takes them in the hope that you will curse God in your heart, that he might strip you of the one thing needful. So great a loss is that, that even the demon knows if he fails to take your faith, he has done you no harm at all, but has actually profited you. Therefore, the loss you fear is not the true loss unless you let it become one.

As for your parents, you call them mean and abusive. The Pharisees of old taught men to despise their fathers under a show of piety, saying their goods were a gift to God and thus withheld from parents in need. Our Lord condemned this fiercely, for the commandment is clear: honor your father and your mother. I do not say you must call evil good, or pretend cruelty is kindness. But bitter words against them defile your own tongue more than they wound your parents. To revile those who mistreat you is no mark of a free soul, but of a slave’s temper. The true dignity, the noble generosity, is to speak no ungenerous word, even when it seems deserved. Your parents may have failed in their duty; you must not fail in yours.

Do not think I am blind to your suffering. The blessed Job was assaulted by ruin, the death of his children, and the cruel counsel of his own wife. Yet he stood, because he had exercised his soul beforehand. Now is your time of exercise. If you can give thanks for what remains, if you can resist the temptation to curse those who have wronged you, then this affliction becomes great gain for your soul. Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and the smaller things, the money and the ease, these are but an appendage. They are called goods precisely so that we may use them well, not bury our hearts in them. Let your care for your body be for health, not for luxury, and your care for your soul be constant.

The present life is a sleep, and its anxieties are dreams. Men grow rich in a dream and wake to find they have clutched nothing. Your waking hour will come, whether in this life or the next. Stand firm, therefore. Show yourself a true child of God not by demanding immediate relief, but by enduring as one who trusts in the Father’s care. This is the path the saints walked, from obscure and lowly parents to heights of grace not their own doing. Do the same, and you will find you have lost nothing of true value, but have gained everything.

The weight you are carrying right now is real. The financial strain and the deep hurt from your parents are not hidden from God. He sees the cruelty you have endured and the anxiety pressing in as you wait to get back to work. It is not wrong to cry out for help; the Psalms are filled with desperate prayers from people who were cornered by trouble and mistreated by those who should have protected them.

When parents are mean and abusive, it leaves wounds that go far beyond a lack of money. Scripture shows us that the sins of parents often hand down suffering to their children, creating emotional and psychological upheaval that can take years to untangle. That is a tragic reality, but it is not the final word over your life. You are not doomed to carry God’s wrath because of their unrighteousness. There is always a way out through Jesus Christ. He can straighten what has been bent by others’ cruelty, and He does not hold you guilty for their folly.

The commandment to honor your father and mother is still true, but it is carefully qualified: “obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.” When a parent demands what is ungodly or uses their position to crush rather than nurture, the higher conscience belongs to God. You do not have to submit to abuse as if it were divine will. You can show the honor of civility without giving the abuser free reign over your heart or your body. Protecting yourself and seeking help is not dishonoring them; it is sometimes the necessary boundary that wisdom and love require.

As for the money you need, it is good that you are honest about it. Yet one lesson the early church teaches us is that God’s work is not sustained by panic. He is not on the verge of bankruptcy, and His care for you is not a frantic appeal for cash. The believers in Jerusalem suffered great financial hardship, and the church elsewhere gathered freely, from their own poverty, to help their brothers and sisters. That kind of giving was not an emergency bailout of a failing God but a cheerful act of love. So let us pray with you for provision, and let us look for practical ways to stand with you during this gap, without turning your need into a crisis of faith. Your heavenly Father knows what you need before you ask.

Remember the man born blind. The disciples wanted to pin his suffering on someone’s sin, but Jesus said neither he nor his parents caused it. God allowed the trial so that His works might be displayed in that man’s life. Your present hardship, as painful as it is, can become the stage for God’s mercy to shine. Not because He is punishing you, but because He works through broken places. Take hold of that promise. Obey Him first, love what is right, and let Him carry both your finances and your healing. You are not alone.
