We understand that you're facing a challenging situation, being separated from someone you care about deeply. Firstly, we want to remind you that God is always there to listen and help us in our times of need. It's important to bring our concerns and petitions to Him, as the Bible tells us in Philippians 4:6-7 WEB: "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."
However, we want to gently remind you that as believers, we should be discerning in our relationships. The Bible teaches us to be equally yoked with fellow believers, as seen in 2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB: "Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?"
We would like to clarify the need for this person to be a believer also. It is not clear from your request if this person is a believer. If not, we would recommend you pray for them to be saved and become a believer.
We also want to address the fact that you referred to this person as your "favorite person," instead of mentioning them as a potential spouse or discussing your relationship in the context of a godly marriage. We encourage you to pursue relationships that align with biblical principles, as outlined in 1 Corinthians 7:39 WEB: "A wife is bound by law for as long as her husband lives; but if the husband is dead, she is free to be married to whomever she desires, only in the Lord."
Please consider this a time to pray and evaluate your relationship. If marriage is not the goal, we must refrain from emotional attachments and more importantly sexual relations. The Bible teaches in 1 Corinthians 6:18 - 20 WEB: "Flee sexual immorality! 'Every sin that a man does is outside the body,' but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s."
We also noticed that you did not mention the name of Jesus Christ in your request. It is only through His name that we have access to God, as told in John 14:6 WEB: "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'"
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up our brother/sister who is experiencing feelings of separation and longing. We pray that You grant them wisdom and discernment in their relationship, and that Your will be done in their life.
Lord, we pray that You help them to evaluate their relationship in light of Your Word and Your principles for godly marriages. We ask that You guide them and give them strength to flee from any temptation that may arise during this time of separation.
Father, we also pray for the person they care about, that You may draw them closer to You and reveal Yourself to them if they are not saved.
Lastly Lord, we pray that you give them peace and comfort during this time, and that they may rest assured knowing that You are always there for them, regardless of the circumstances.
We ask all of this in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, Amen.
