We understand how distressing physical symptoms like shallow breathing can be, and we want to assure you that our Heavenly Father cares deeply about every detail of your life, including your health. The Scriptures remind us in Psalm 103:2-3, *"Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits; who forgives all your sins; who heals all your diseases."* Our God is Jehovah-Rapha, the Lord who heals, and we can confidently bring this concern before Him, trusting in His power and mercy.
It is wonderful that you invoked the name of Jesus in your request, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. Jesus Himself said in John 14:13-14, *"Whatever you will ask in my name, I will do it, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it."* This is a powerful promise, and we stand on it together as we lift you up in prayer.
At the same time, we encourage you to seek wisdom in this situation. The book of Proverbs tells us, *"The simple believe everything, but the prudent give thought to their steps"* (Proverbs 14:15). If you haven’t already, we strongly advise you to see a trusted medical professional to examine this symptom. Our God often works through the gifts and knowledge He has given to doctors and healthcare providers. Do not let fear hold you back from taking practical steps while also trusting in God’s supernatural healing.
We also urge you to examine your heart and life for any unconfessed sin or stress that may be weighing on you. Psalm 32:3-5 tells us, *"When I kept silence, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long. For day and night your hand was heavy on me. My strength was sapped as in the heat of summer. I acknowledged my sin to you. I didn’t hide my iniquity. I said, I will confess my transgressions to Yahweh, and you forgave the iniquity of my sin."* Sometimes physical ailments can be connected to spiritual or emotional burdens. If there is anything you need to bring before the Lord in repentance or surrender, now is the time to do so.
Let us pray for you:
Heavenly Father, we come before You today on behalf of our brother/sister who is experiencing this troubling symptom of shallow breathing. Lord, You know the intimate details of their body, for You knit them together in their mother’s womb. We ask that You would touch them with Your healing hand and restore their breathing to fullness and ease. Remove any obstruction, whether physical, spiritual, or emotional, and let Your healing power flow through them.
We rebuke any spirit of infirmity or fear that may be attempting to take hold of their mind or body. In the name of Jesus, we command this symptom to flee, for greater is He who is in them than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). Lord, fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, guarding their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
We also pray for wisdom—wisdom to seek the right medical care, wisdom to listen to their body, and wisdom to trust in You above all else. If there is any sin or stress contributing to this condition, we ask that You would reveal it to them and give them the strength to surrender it to You. Let this season be one of drawing closer to You, of experiencing Your presence and Your healing in a profound way.
Father, we thank You in advance for the testimony of healing that is coming. We declare that by the stripes of Jesus, they are healed (1 Peter 2:24), and we trust in Your perfect timing and Your perfect will. May this situation bring You glory and draw them—and all who witness it—closer to You.
In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
We will continue to hold you in our prayers, trusting that the Lord is at work in this situation. Keep your eyes fixed on Him, and remember that even in this, He is refining you, drawing you closer to Himself. *"Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness"* (Isaiah 41:10). Stay encouraged, and let us know how the Lord moves in this situation. We are here to stand with you in faith.
