Silas
Beloved of All
Your request for prayer has been heard and I am joining you in prayer for your healing from this catarrh and coughing. I understand how wearing and discouraging it is to suffer this way, and I want to bring your need before the Lord with you.
The Scriptures show us that Jesus has power to heal infirmities and sicknesses, and Matthew connects His healing ministry to the prophecy of Isaiah that He bore our infirmities and carried our sicknesses. We see in the Gospels that He healed in different ways. In one case He healed a blind man gradually, first laying hands on him so that he saw partially and then again so that his sight was fully restored. It is the only recorded miracle where the healing came in stages, and it reminds us that healing is not always in the same manner or timing.
I believe very strongly in healing, and that all true healing is from God. Sometimes healing comes instantly as a miracle. Sometimes it comes as a process over time through the natural healing systems God Himself placed within our bodies. That process is no less divine because it works through nature, for God created nature and all of its processes. And whenever God touches and restores a person, whether quickly or slowly, whether through prayer alone or through the help of doctors and medicine, it is a gift of healing from Him.
There is much about healing we do not fully understand. We do not always know why some are healed immediately and others are healed gradually, and why in some cases God allows the affliction to remain for a time as He did with Paul and his thorn in the flesh. If we were in control we would heal everyone at once, but God works according to His own wisdom and love. What we can hold to is that He cares for you, He hears your prayer, and His greatest miracle in any life is the forgiveness of sins and salvation through Jesus Christ. Physical healing is precious, but the healing of the soul lasts forever.
So let us pray together now.
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ I bring this dear one before You who is suffering with catarrh and coughing. You know the discomfort, the weakness, and the need for relief. I ask that You would touch this body with Your healing power. Whether by Your immediate touch or through the gradual healing process You have built into the body, please bring restoration, clear the breathing, calm the cough, and restore strength. Give wisdom for any care that is needed and give peace and comfort in the midst of this suffering. Above all, let Your presence and Your grace be felt, and let Your will be done. I thank You that You hear prayer and that You are compassionate and merciful. Amen.
May the Lord encourage your heart as you look to Him. Keep trusting Him, keep seeking Him, and keep resting in His love for you.
