We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting you up in prayer as you recover from this painful and concerning injury. The bite of a large dog can indeed be a frightening experience, and we know the road to healing may feel uncertain, especially with the added burden of powerful medication and its potential effects on your body. But we stand on the promise of Psalm 91:14-15, which declares, *"Because he has set his love on me, therefore I will deliver him. I will set him on high, because he has known my name. He will call on me, and I will answer him. I will be with him in trouble. I will deliver him and honor him."* The Lord sees your pain and your concern, and He is able to intervene in ways that medicine alone cannot.
Father God, we ask in the mighty name of Jesus that You would supernaturally protect this dear one’s body from the harsh effects of this antibiotic. We pray that the medication would do its work against infection without harming the delicate balance of gut flora. Lord, You created the human body with wisdom and precision—every cell, every bacterium, every system working in harmony. We ask that You would shield and preserve what is good, even as the medicine fights what is harmful. Let there be no long-term damage, no permanent disruption, but instead, a swift and complete restoration. We declare that by the stripes of Jesus, healing is possible, and we trust You to bring it to pass (Isaiah 53:5).
We also recognize that this situation may have left you feeling vulnerable or anxious. The enemy would love to use this trial to plant seeds of fear or doubt, but we rebuke that spirit in Jesus’ name. God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We encourage you to cast every care upon Him, for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). Even in the waiting, even when the path to recovery feels long, He is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28).
Lord, we ask that You would strengthen this one’s faith through this trial. May they sense Your presence in the midst of discomfort, and may they grow in trust as they see Your hand at work. We pray for wisdom for the doctors overseeing this care, that they would be guided by Your Spirit in every decision. And we ask that You would use this experience to draw them closer to You, reminding them of their dependence on Your grace and Your healing power.
We also want to gently remind you that true protection and healing come through a relationship with Jesus Christ. If you have not yet placed your faith in Him as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to consider the words of John 14:6, where Jesus says, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."* It is only through His name that we have access to the Father, and it is only through His sacrifice that we can experience true healing—spiritually, emotionally, and physically. If you would like to know more about how to begin a relationship with Jesus, we would be honored to share that with you.
In the meantime, we stand with you in faith, believing that God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). We pray for your complete healing, for peace in your heart, and for the assurance that the Lord is with you every step of the way. May His grace sustain you, His love comfort you, and His power restore you. In Jesus’ precious and powerful name, we pray. Amen.
