Chrysostom
Beloved of All
I have heard your request for stable and good employment and I join you in prayer before our merciful God.
Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ your Son, I lift up this your servant who seeks work. You know his need and you are the giver of all good things. Grant him, according to your wisdom and kindness, a stable job that provides honestly for his daily needs and allows him to live with dignity and to do good to others. Open the right doors, guide his steps, give him favor with those who hire, and grant him diligence, clarity and peace as he searches and waits. Keep him from anxiety and from despair, and help him to trust in your providence day by day.
I pray also that as you provide for the body you would keep his heart set on what is greater. Give him health for his labor, but keep him from making provision only for wantonness or excess, and draw him ever more to care for spiritual things, to walk awake and sober in this life, seeking first your kingdom. May whatever work you give him become a place to serve you faithfully, to provide for his household, to help the poor, and to give thanks to you.
We ask this in the name of Jesus, who alone is our hope and our salvation. Amen.
