Need a prayer that we dont get evicted from the house we rent

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Please pray for me and my husband and son. We live in the house we rent now for 8 years. The landlord said we can rent to buy, so we paid her for 5 years dubble the rent, the contract ended after 5 years although she made a verbal contract/agreement with us that she will extend it for us for another 5 years. But she decided not to and took all the exstra money. She said we can still rent with her. But then my husband lost his work and bisness and we going through financial difficulties we asked her to give as a change and we explained to her. But now she served us with eviction papers. Please pray that we will find favor by her and that she will give us time to get back on our feet, that she will rember her verbal contract/agreement she made with us and let us stay in the house for another 5 years. I really want this to be our forever home and dont want to be evicted, please pray that the Lord will bless us with this house in Jesus name. We have no where else to go and my son is still Yung.

We hear your cry for help and stand with you in prayer, lifting your family before the throne of grace. The situation you describe is deeply painful, feeling betrayed by a broken promise, facing financial hardship, and the fear of losing the home where your son has grown for eight years. We grieve with you over the injustice of the landlord taking the extra payments without honoring her word, and we pray for God’s intervention in this matter.

First, we want to acknowledge the faithfulness you’ve shown in making sacrifices to secure this home. Your desire for stability is honorable, and we believe God sees your heart. The Bible tells us in Proverbs 19:14, "House and riches are an inheritance from fathers, but a prudent wife is from Yahweh." While this verse speaks to inheritance, it also reminds us that God is the ultimate provider of our needs. He knows your situation intimately and cares for your family.

We must also speak truth about the verbal agreement. While Scripture encourages us to keep our word (Matthew 5:37), it also warns against trusting in man’s promises alone. Jeremiah 17:5 says, "Cursed is the man who trusts in man, and makes flesh his arm, and whose heart departs from Yahweh." This is not to condemn you but to remind you, and all of us, that our ultimate trust must be in God, not in human contracts or goodwill. He is your provider, your defender, and your hope.

That said, we do not dismiss the landlord’s responsibility. The Bible commands fair dealing and warns against oppression. Leviticus 19:13 says, "You shall not oppress your neighbor, nor rob him. The wages of a hired servant shall not remain with you all night until the morning." While this refers to wages, the principle of fairness applies. The landlord’s actions, taking your extra payments without honoring the agreement, are unjust. We pray she would be convicted by the Holy Spirit to do what is right.

Now, let us pray together:

"Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the One who is our refuge and strength. Lord, You see this family’s distress, financial strain, the threat of eviction, and the fear of losing their home. You know the years of faithfulness they’ve shown in trying to secure this place for their son. We ask, Father, that You would move mightily on their behalf. Soften the heart of their landlord, Lord. Let her remember her verbal agreement and choose to extend grace, giving them time to recover financially. If it is Your will, let this home become their forever home, not by man’s word, but by Your provision.

We pray for favor in this situation, Lord. Open doors no man can shut, and provide for their needs according to Your riches in glory. Give them wisdom in how to navigate this challenge, whether through legal means, negotiation, or finding another place if that is Your plan. Protect their son from fear and anxiety, and let him see Your faithfulness in action.

Father, we also ask for financial breakthrough. Restore what has been lost, and provide stable work for the husband. Let Your peace guard their hearts, knowing You are their ultimate provider. If there is any unforgiveness or bitterness in their hearts toward the landlord, we ask You to uproot it and replace it with Your love. Help them to trust You fully, even when circumstances seem impossible.

We declare Psalm 37:25 over this family: 'I have been young, and now am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his children begging for bread.' Lord, they are Your children, and we trust You to care for them. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen."

In addition to prayer, we encourage you to seek wise counsel. If there are legal avenues to challenge the eviction or recover the extra payments, consider consulting a Christian attorney or legal aid organization. Proverbs 15:22 says, "Where there is no counsel, plans fail; but in a multitude of counselors they are established." God may use earthly means to bring about justice.

We also want to gently encourage you to prepare your hearts for any outcome. While you long for this home, God may have a different plan, one that leads to greater blessing. Trust that He will not abandon you. Psalm 23:6 says, "Surely goodness and loving kindness shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in Yahweh’s house forever." Even if you must leave this house, God’s presence will go with you, and He will provide another dwelling place.

Lastly, we urge you to hold fast to faith in Jesus Christ. It is only through Him that we have access to the Father and the hope of eternal security. If you have not placed your trust in Him as your Lord and Savior, we invite you to do so today. Romans 10:9 says, "If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." Salvation is a free gift, and it is the foundation of all other blessings.

We stand with you in this trial, believing God for a miracle. Keep your eyes on Him, and do not lose hope. He is working even when you cannot see it.

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. Thank you and praise you. In your holy name I pray. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
