Disciple of Prayer
Hi everyone, I would greatly appreciate your prayers- I am in an extremely bad situation right now. I have a severe brain disease and mental illness called schizophrenia, I am on medication for it that helps me alot but it has stopped working, I am DEATHLY ill without it. There is a supplement called St Johns Wort that helps me tremendously, however it interacts with my medication, cancels it out. However I was so profoundly ill yesterday I had to take some, I had no choice. I felt much better after I took it but now today I feel like my medication isn't working anymore, I am now profoundly ill and the St Johns Wort won't wear off for like 4 days. I am in an extremely bad situation now, my meds don't work. I need a miracle that the St Johns Wort is flushed out of my system and that my meds work again. Thank you!

We hear your desperate cry for help, and our hearts ache with you in this agonizing struggle. The weight of mental illness is a heavy cross to bear, and we stand with you in fervent prayer, believing that our Heavenly Father sees your suffering and is mighty to intervene. First, we must address the spiritual foundation of your request, salvation and access to God come only through faith in Jesus Christ. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not already, we urge you to surrender your life to Him, for He alone is the Great Physician who heals both body and soul. "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28).

We rebuke the torment of schizophrenia in the name of Jesus, for He came to destroy the works of the devil (1 John 3:8). We declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17) and that the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). We also gently address the use of St. John’s Wort in this situation. While we understand your desperation, we must caution against relying on supplements that interfere with prescribed medication, as this can lead to dangerous consequences. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths."

Now, let us pray together in faith:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our brother/sister who is suffering under the weight of mental illness. Lord, You are the God who sees, the God who heals, and the God who delivers. We ask for a miracle in this situation, let the St. John’s Wort be flushed from their system swiftly, and let their medication regain its effectiveness. We declare that You are the restorer of health and the mender of broken minds. In Your mercy, bring relief from this torment, and let Your peace reign in their heart and mind.

We pray for wisdom for their doctors and caregivers, that they would have divine insight into how to help. We ask for Your protection over their body, mind, and spirit, shielding them from further harm. Lord, we also pray for strength and hope in this dark time. Remind them that You are near to the brokenhearted and save those who have a contrite spirit (Psalm 34:18). Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, who is the Comforter and the Helper in times of distress.

We rebuke every spirit of fear, confusion, and despair in the name of Jesus. We declare that this illness will not have the final say, for You have promised that those who trust in You will renew their strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles; they will run and not be weary; they will walk and not faint (Isaiah 40:31). We trust in Your unfailing love and Your power to work miracles. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

In the meantime, we encourage you to reach out to your healthcare provider immediately to discuss this situation. They may be able to offer medical interventions or adjustments to help mitigate the effects of the St. John’s Wort. Do not lose hope, God is with you, and He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that you ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). Lean on Him, and let His strength be made perfect in your weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). You are not alone in this battle.

We are holding you in our hearts as you face this frightening situation. The desperation you felt when you had to reach for St. John’s Wort makes sense, and the fear now that your medication has stopped working is overwhelming. You are not alone in this, and we are asking God to bring you tangible relief right now.

Because this involves a serious interaction between a prescribed medication and a supplement, we want to gently encourage you to contact your prescribing doctor or psychiatrist as soon as you possibly can, today, if you haven’t already. They need to know exactly what happened so they can guide you through the next few days safely. This is not a failure or a sign of weak faith; it’s a wise step toward the healing you desperately need. Your brain chemistry matters, and a medical professional can help you stabilize while the St. John’s Wort leaves your system.

While you wait, please hold onto this: God sees your suffering. He is not far off, and He does not condemn you for trying to ease your anguish. We are praying that the supplement is flushed from your body quickly, that your medication resumes its effectiveness, and that you are shielded from the worst of the illness. We pray for a peace that doesn’t depend on your symptoms, a steady awareness that you are safe in His hands.

Lord Jesus, we lift up this dear person to You. Quiet their racing thoughts and ease the profound fear they feel. We ask for a miracle of mercy: flush out what needs to go, restore the help their medication provides, and give their doctors wisdom for the hours ahead. Hold them close when the darkness presses in, and let them feel Your presence as a very real comfort. Bring them through this crisis, body, mind, and spirit. Amen.

Oh sister I pray Lord Yeshua and our Fatger will give you the love and support that ypu need. If only we knew how to dedicate our time and life to his word and to the gospel mission of outreach and find remission strength and recuperation. I surmise that if we put prayer and scriptures and faith ahead of ourselves in every way that we sould find the power to survive every trial we have and not die but be alive. Let is therefore put our hope and our faith in Lord Yeshuas name and in the Father by never ceasing to pray and worship God if it were possible. Thank you Father. Today I pray over her life. Her mental illness can be severely life threatening. Self defeating. And immensely terrifying. But Lord we know that through prayers and fixation on your word that we can find and she can might find the peace and stability she really needs because of your spirit. Thank you Father for taking pity on her soul. And Lord Yeshua for considering her soul. We pray. Give thanks and we are ever watchful again to be able to pattipate again in prayers scriptures and worship daily for your strength God. Thank you Lord. Lord Yeshuas nane amen.

The desperation of your present trial is not hidden from the Lord who sees in secret. When the soul is bowed down and the body afflicted, the Great Physician draws near, though the darkness hide Him. Consider how our blessed Master Himself looked through the agony of the cross and saw the Father's throne. Can you not, even now, try to see this terrible conflict in His light? The enemy would fix your gaze upon the failed medicine and the herb that seems to have wrought confusion, but faith cries, “Jesus only.” He knows what it is to be plunged into the depths and yet to trust. He who spoke with authority to the unclean spirits has power over every molecule that courses through your frame. Cast yourself upon Him anew.

Remember, and let this sweeten your meditation, that the Lord never appears more glorious than in the eyes of those who are brought low. You have tasted of His delivering grace before; do not let the present anguish drown the memory of former mercies. The disciples forgot the miracle of the loaves when the next storm arose, and so do we. Yet the same Christ who fed thousands with a child’s scanty meal can command this substance to pass harmless from your body and restore the remedy your mind so sorely needs. He sees the end from the beginning. Where you see only a broken medicine, He sees a throne of grace to which you may come boldly. Beseech Him, as Moses did when the people sinned, for He is the same interceding Savior and can turn away the threatened disaster.

Let your prayer be pressed with the confidence that He is the Great Miracle Worker. The most astounding miracles were often wrought in the most commonplace moments, even on a Sabbath in the synagogue. Your sickroom is as sacred as any synagogue if you meet Him there. Bring this hard case before Him; tell Him that you have no other refuge, and that if He does not undertake for you, you perish. He invites such pleadings. Meditate upon Him, upon His wounds, His love, His power, and that meditation shall be sweet even while the bitterness of your condition remains. He shall make the bitter waters of your present cup to be healthful streams. Wait for the Lord; He shall renew your strength. The St. John’s Wort shall have no more dominion; your required medicines shall again be blessed to your healing, for with God nothing is impossible.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

I hear your cry for a miracle, and your suffering is great. But consider: the holy John the Baptist worked no miracle, yet his life of devotion drew many to God. Job’s endurance, firmer than any stone, amazed even the devil, though no dead was raised by his hand. Miracles, if not received with a sober heart, can lead to pride or division, as they did for Simon and some of the Corinthians.

You seek a flushing out of the herb from your body, this is a small thing for the Lord. Yet even more than a swift deliverance, He desires to see in you an unwavering trust, a patience that holds fast even when relief seems far. Do not think that God’s compassion has failed because your medication seems blocked; He who fed the multitudes out of sheer pity will not abandon you in this crisis. But be careful not to grasp at remedies that war against each other, for that may bring greater confusion to your troubled mind.

The herb you took gave a temporary ease, but now it clashes. I will pray that God, in His mercy, cleanses your system and restores the medicine’s power. Yet I pray also that He grants you the fortitude of Job, that you might say, “Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him.” For the greatest miracle is not always the sudden cure, but a soul that shines with endurance through the dark. Wait upon the Lord, keep to your physicians’ counsel as far as you are able, and let your heart not be troubled.

He who calmed the sea knows your storm.

I hear the desperation in your words, and I want you to know that your cry is not falling on deaf ears. You are facing a terrifying clash inside your own body, and the fear of those four days stretching ahead must feel overwhelming. I am praying for you in this very moment, asking God to intervene in the way only He can.

What I find striking in the Scriptures is that Jesus never worked a healing the same way twice. Sometimes a single word brought full restoration in an instant. Other times He touched a person’s eyes, or made mud, or commanded someone to go wash, and the cure unfolded through simple, physical steps. There’s even one account where a man’s sight returned only gradually, a little at a time. That tells me that our Lord is not limited to a single method, and He is not offended when healing comes through means like medicine or even the passing of hours while a substance clears from the body. The natural processes that flush out what you took, those are not outside His control; they belong to the same creation He designed. So while you are asking for a sudden miracle that your medication would start working again right now, it may be that His answer comes through the slower path of your system restoring its balance over these next days. Either way, the healing is still from His hand.

I also have to be honest with you about something I have wrestled with for years. I have prayed for miracles, fasted and pleaded for gifts of healing, and I have seen God do remarkable things. But I have also sat with people who were not healed, good and faithful people who died of their diseases. The apostle Paul himself begged three times for a thorn in his flesh to be removed, and God’s answer was not the miracle he sought, but a deeper promise: “My grace is sufficient for you.” I do not pretend to understand why some are delivered and others must endure, but I do know that the greatest miracle any of us can ever receive is not a repaired body but a soul cleansed and held safe in Christ forever. Your salvation, your standing before God, that is the rock that cannot be shaken, even when your mind and body feel as though they are coming apart.

Please do not add guilt to your suffering over taking the St. John’s Wort. You were in agony, and you reached for relief. Jesus did not scold the woman who pressed through a crowd to touch the hem of His garment because she was desperate and afraid. He called her “daughter” and sent her away in peace. Bring that same honest desperation to Him now. Cry out to Him moment by moment. Ask for His mercy on the medication to become effective again, and ask for His sustaining presence even while you wait.

In the meantime, try to lean on whatever practical support you have, a doctor who knows your situation, a trusted person who can check on you. God often works His healing through the wisdom and care of others. The body of Christ is meant to surround you in times like this, so let someone near you know the weight you are carrying.

I am praying that the overlap of these substances would resolve far quicker than you expect, and that your mind would experience the calming stability you need. But even if the next few days feel like a slow and anxious climb, know that Jesus has borne our infirmities and carried our sorrows. He does not despise your weakness. He walks with you through the valley, and nothing in that valley can snatch you from His grip. Hold onto that miracle of love, and let us trust Him together for the rest.
