Need a job

Queen V

Disciple of Prayer
Hello,

My name is ### from ###. Earlier this year, I was fired from my job because of two evil women who sabatoged my ability to do my job, with the company owner refusing to hold them accountable. Please, pray for God to give me a new job that pays enough for me to live on and has benefits.

We have heard your request and we lift you up together before the Father in Jesus name. We understand how painful and discouraging it is to lose a job, especially when you feel you were treated unjustly and those in authority did not defend you. We know the worry that comes when you need income to live on and benefits to sustain you, and we bring that need to the Lord who sees and cares for you.

We want to gently encourage you about the hurt you expressed toward the two women at your former workplace. What happened to you was wrong in the eyes of God if they truly sabotaged your work, and God sees every injustice. Yet we are called not to hold onto bitterness or vengeance, but to entrust justice to Him. Romans 12:19 says, Don't seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God's wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord. And Ephesians 4:31-32 says, Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander, be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you. We encourage you to release this anger to the Lord, forgive as Christ forgave us, and pray even for those who wronged you, so that your heart may be free and your prayers not hindered. The Lord is your defender and He will repay in His perfect time and way.

We also notice your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. John 14:6 says, Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 says, There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If you have not already done so, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, confessing Him as Lord, for Romans 10:9 says if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. It is in His name we pray and find provision and hope.

We pray together for you now. Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear one to You. You know the pain of this job loss and the financial need that weighs heavily. We ask You to open a door for a new job that provides enough to live on and that includes benefits, a place where labor is honest and valued. We ask You to guide every application, every interview, and every decision, and to place this one where You want them to serve You. Proverbs 16:3 says, Commit your works to Yahweh, and your plans shall be established, so we commit this job search to You. Help this one to work heartily as for You and not for men, as Colossians 3:23 teaches, and to trust Your provision, for Philippians 4:19 promises, My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Heal any bitterness and give peace, and help to forgive as You have forgiven us. Lead to a workplace that honors You and where integrity is upheld. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus, amen.

We encourage you to keep seeking the Lord first while you seek work. Matthew 6:33 says, But seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well. And Jeremiah 29:11 says, For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. God has not forgotten you. Psalm 37:25 says, I have been young, and now am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his children begging for bread. Be diligent, update your resume, apply faithfully, use the skills God has given you, and trust that He is working even when you cannot see it. Romans 8:28 reminds us that God works all things together for good for those who love Him. We continue to pray with you for provision, peace, and a new opportunity that will be a blessing and allow you to provide for your needs while giving glory to God.

I prayed with you for His job (which is the best) for you, in Jesus' name Amen.

We were sorry to read what happened with your job, and how painful the way it ended has been. To feel sabotaged by coworkers and not backed up by the owner would leave anyone feeling hurt and unsettled, and it makes sense you are carrying that while also worrying about how to make ends meet.

Losing a job often hits on two levels at once. There is the practical pressure of income and benefits, and there is the blow to identity and steadiness when work you depended on is taken away unfairly. It is normal for confidence and sleep and hope to wobble for a while after a loss like this.

As you look for what is next, one step that often helps is to separate the immediate pressure point from the longer search. If you can, take a quiet hour to list the most urgent financial need in the next month and what resources you already have, then bring that list to one trusted person who can think clearly with you, whether a pastor, a former supervisor who respected your work, or a local workforce center. Many churches and community centers also have small employment transition groups where people share leads, review resumes, and encourage each other, and that kind of steady support can make the search less isolating.

We are praying for you.

Father, we lift our brother to You and ask for Your provision and guidance in this job search. Give him wisdom as he applies, favor with those reviewing his work, and peace as he waits. Provide for his daily needs and remind him that his worth is secure in You. Lead him to work that fits the gifts You gave him. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your burden has been heard and has been carried before the throne of grace, and we join our hearts with yours in prayer to our heavenly Father.

There are seasons when Providence permits the hand of man to wound us, and you have felt this keenly in the loss of your employment through the wrongdoing of others. It is a bitter trial to be cast down not by your own fault but by the unfaithfulness of fellow creatures, and to find no justice from those who had power to defend you. In such an hour we are reminded of Job, of whom it is written, In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly. He lost his substance and his standing, he was despised by those who once honoured him, and yet he fell down upon the ground and worshipped. May the same grace be yours, that under this sharp affliction you may keep right with God and not allow the injustice of man to draw from your lips any unbelieving or bitter speech. The Lord saw Job in his ashes, and He sees you now in your need.

We take comfort in that other word, And the Lord turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends. Job prayed for those who had spoken harshly against him and had added to his sorrow, and as he made intercession for his offenders the Lord turned his sorrow into joy. Let us learn to imitate him. Pray for those who have wronged you, that God would show them their sin and bring them to repentance, and in so praying your own heart will be kept tender and your captivity will be the nearer to its end. Our longest sorrows have a close, and there is a bottom to the profoundest depths of our misery. The night shall not hang its darkness forever over the soul.

We now pray for you, that the God who clothes the lilies and feeds the sparrows will open a door of employment for you according to His wise and loving will. We ask the Lord to provide for you a honest calling where your labour may be valued, where the wage shall be sufficient to sustain you and where provision shall be made for your health and daily need. May He guide your steps to the place He has appointed, give you favour in the eyes of those who hire, and grant you strength and skill to do your work faithfully as unto Christ. And if waiting be required, may He keep you in perfect peace, trusting not in man but in Him who in His own time restored to Job twice as much as he had before.

Search the Scriptures and let your confidence rest there, for they testify of a Saviour who knows what it is to be rejected and oppressed, yet who lives to make intercession for His people. Cast your care upon Him, continue in prayer, and look for His deliverance.

We will continue to bear you up before the Lord, asking that He will supply your need and cause His face to shine upon you in this trial.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
