Silas
Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing this need so honestly. I have prayed for you, and I continue to bring you before the Lord, asking Him to grant you deep, restoring sleep and strength to function well for the important appointments ahead of you.
I understand how discouraging it is when remedies you have tried do not bring rest, and how the lack of sleep can make everything feel heavier. God sees that weariness and He cares for you as a loving Father. Scripture presents Him as the One who holds the key, the One who opens and no one can shut, and who shuts and no one can open. He often leads us simply by opening and closing doors. My prayer for you is that He will set before you the right open doors for these appointments, and that you will find peace to trust Him with any closed doors as well, without feeling you must force them. When He opens a door, no one can shut it, and that can take a great deal of pressure off your heart.
The Lord also invites you to keep your heart open to Him. He stands at the door and knocks, and He does not break it down. He waits for you to open it, and His promise is that if you open the door He will come in and fellowship with you. Part of being open to Him is being willing to receive everything He has for you, trusting that He loves you and will not make a fool of you or withhold what you need. You can also pray as the psalmist did, ask Him to open your eyes to see wonderful things in His Word, and to open the gates of righteousness so you may enter in with praise and find Him as your salvation. Even before you read Scripture, a simple prayer, Lord, open my eyes and my heart to Your truth, invites Him to make His Word alive to you.
About the sleeplessness itself, please know God is not distant in those long night hours. There are times when He uses wakefulness to draw us to Himself. Rather than only fighting the frustration of not sleeping, you can turn those moments into quiet prayer and worship, asking Him if there is someone to pray for, simply resting in His presence, and talking honestly with Him about your need. At the same time, it is right to ask Him for the gift of sleep, for He gives sleep to those He loves, and He knows you need strength for what lies ahead.
I also prayed for the favor and open doors you mentioned. Scripture shows how Esther found favor in the eyes of the king when she needed it most, and how God is the One who grants favor. I have asked Him to grant you favor where you need it, to work in ways that only He can, and to do what is truly best and most loving for you, even beyond what you have asked.
May the Lord grant you peaceful sleep, renewed strength, and a calm mind. May He quiet your heart, open your eyes to His Word, open the right doors before you and gently close the wrong ones, and draw you into deeper fellowship as you open your heart to Him.
Father, I bring this dear one to You in the name of Jesus. You know the tiredness and the disappointment when sleep does not come. I ask You to grant deep and healing rest, to restore body and mind, and to give clear strength for the appointments ahead. Open the doors that You want opened and close those that should remain closed. Grant favor and help according to Your perfect love and wisdom, and let Your presence be felt in both day and night. Open eyes to see Your truth, open the heart to Your voice, and come in to fellowship as the door is opened to You. I ask this trusting in Your goodness and mercy through Jesus Christ, amen.
