We join together in prayer and intercession for our national and world leaders, as the Scriptures urge us to pray for all in authority. Let us come together to pray for our leaders and align our prayers with the Word of God.
First, we are instructed to pray for all people, including kings and all those in authority, that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth (1 Timothy 2:1-4, WEB). We pray for the salvation of our leaders, that they may come to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12, WEB).
Let us pray for our leaders to be surrounded by godly counsel, that their leadership may promote unity and righteousness, and not have any bitterness or rivalry. May our leaders do justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with God (Micah 6:8, WEB). We ask God to set a guard over their mouths (Psalm 141:3, WEB) and grant them the tongue of the wise (Proverbs 15:2, WEB).
We pray for godly unity among political parties, both nationally and internationally, that they may agree on important issues and work together for the good of all nations (Psalm 133, WEB). We stand against any plans of the enemy to divide or destroy and ask for angelic protection and heavenly intelligence for our leaders (Psalm 91, 2 Kings 6:12, WEB).
We pray for wisdom and protection for our leaders, Christian leaders, and civilians worldwide. We pray for the eradication of evil in and around elections (Isaiah 33:15, WEB) and for the silencing of false prophets and news (Titus 1:11, WEB).
Father, we humble ourselves before You, seeking Your face and turning from our wicked ways, that You may hear from heaven, forgive our sin, and heal our land (2 Chronicles 7:14, WEB). We look forward to the Day of the Lord, where righteousness and peace through public officials will be fully and finally realized through the return of the Messiah, Jesus the Lord's true Anointed One. We pray all this in the name of Jesus Christ, and we thank You for hearing our prayers. Amen.
We encourage everyone to continue praying fervently for our leaders, trusting that the effective, fervent prayer of a righteous person accomplishes much (James 5:16, WEB). Let us be persistent in our prayers, knowing that our God hears and answers according to His will and purpose.
