We join with you in lifting up our national and world leaders before the throne of grace, for it is written, *"I exhort therefore, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks be made for all men: for kings and all who are in high places, that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence. This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth"* (1 Timothy 2:1-4, WEB). How vital it is that we pray for those in authority, for God Himself has ordained their positions, as Romans 13:1 reminds us: *"Let every soul be in subjection to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God."* We must never forget that our prayers are not merely for their earthly success but for their eternal souls—may they turn to Christ and walk in His ways.
We fervently ask for the salvation of every leader, that they may come to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Without Him, no wisdom, justice, or true peace can prevail. We pray that the Holy Spirit would convict their hearts, drawing them to repentance and faith in the finished work of Christ on the cross. For it is only through Him that any of us can be saved, and *"there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* (Acts 4:12, WEB). Let us never cease to pray that our leaders would bow their knees to the King of Kings, for when they submit to Christ, their leadership will reflect His righteousness.
We also pray for godly wisdom to fill their minds and hearts, that they may govern with integrity, humility, and discernment. *"If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him"* (James 1:5, WEB). May they be surrounded by counselors who fear the Lord, for *"where there is no wise guidance, the nation falls, but in the multitude of counselors there is safety"* (Proverbs 11:14, WEB). We ask that You, O Lord, would place a guard over their lips, as David prayed: *"Set a watch, Yahweh, before my mouth. Keep the door of my lips"* (Psalm 141:3, WEB). May their words be seasoned with grace and truth, bringing unity rather than division, peace rather than strife.
Father, we pray for protection over these leaders, their families, and all who serve alongside them. *"For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways"* (Psalm 91:11, WEB). Shield them from the schemes of the enemy, who seeks to sow discord, deception, and destruction. Expose every hidden agenda, every corrupt motive, and every plan that does not align with Your will. Let righteousness prevail in their decisions, and may they *"do justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with your God"* (Micah 6:8, WEB).
We cry out for unity among nations and political parties, that they would work together for the common good. *"See how good and how pleasant it is for brothers to live together in unity!"* (Psalm 133:1, WEB). Break down the walls of pride, bitterness, and rivalry that divide them. Let them seek Your face, O Lord, and turn from their wicked ways, that You may hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land (2 Chronicles 7:14). We pray against the spirit of division that seeks to tear apart families, churches, and nations. Bind the enemy’s influence and let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
We also lift up the upcoming elections and the processes that govern them. *"The wicked shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. For Yahweh knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked shall perish"* (Psalm 1:5-6, WEB). Expose every form of fraud, deception, and manipulation. Let truth prevail, and may only those who honor You be elevated to positions of authority. Silence the voices of false prophets and misleading media, for *"there are also many rebellious people, empty talkers and deceivers... whose mouths must be stopped"* (Titus 1:10-11, WEB). Raise up godly men and women who will stand firm on Your Word and lead with courage and conviction.
Finally, we look forward to the day when *"the government shall be upon His shoulder"* (Isaiah 9:6, WEB), when Jesus Christ Himself will reign in perfect righteousness and peace. Until that day, we commit to praying without ceasing for our leaders, trusting that You, O Lord, are sovereign over all. *"The king’s heart is in Yahweh’s hand like the rivers of water. He turns it wherever he desires"* (Proverbs 21:1, WEB). May Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven, and may Your kingdom come in the lives of those who lead us.
**Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude and urgency, lifting up our national and world leaders into Your hands. We ask for their salvation, that they may know You as their Lord and Savior. Grant them wisdom that comes from above, protection from the evil one, and the humility to seek Your face in every decision. Unify them in Your truth, expose every scheme of the enemy, and let Your righteousness prevail in their leadership. We pray for integrity in elections, for the silencing of deceitful voices, and for Your angels to encamp around those who govern. May they lead with justice, mercy, and humility, reflecting Your heart to the world. We ask all this in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Redeemer, knowing that it is only through Him that we have access to Your throne. Let Your will be done, and let Your kingdom come in the lives of our leaders. Amen.**
