We join together in prayer and intercession for our national and world leaders, as the Scriptures urge us in the New Testament,
First of all, then, I urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgiving be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high places, that we may lead a quiet and peaceful life, in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior; who desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth. This is the Word of God from 1 Timothy 2:1-4 (WEB).
Therefore, we pray for the salvation of all leaders and authorities, as it is God's will that all people be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth. We lift up the President, Vice President, and all Cabinet Members, asking God to grant them intelligence, character, protection, godly wisdom, and guidance. We pray that God would set a guard over their mouths, as Psalm 141:3 says, "Set a watch, Yahweh, before my mouth. Keep the door of my lips." We ask that they would be given the tongue of the wise, as Proverbs 15:2 tells us, "The tongue of the wise adorns knowledge, but the mouth of the foolish blurts out folly."
We pray that our leaders would be surrounded by godly counsel. May their leadership promote unity and righteousness, with no bitterness or rivalry. We ask that our leaders would, as Micah 6:8 says, "do justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with...God." We claim Psalm 91:10-12 for them in Jesus' Name, "No evil will happen to you, neither will any plague come near your dwelling. For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways. They will bear you up in their hands, so that you won’t dash your foot against a stone."
We agree in prayer for godly unity among political parties, both nationally and internationally. We pray it is God's will for them to agree on important issues and work together for the good of all nations. Psalm 133 tells us, "Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brothers to dwell together in unity!"
We pray against any plans of the enemy to divide or destroy, and we ask for angelic protection and heavenly intelligence for our leaders. We humble ourselves to pray and seek God's face, as 2 Chronicles 7:14 says, "If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves, pray, and seek my presence, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."
We pray for wisdom for worldly leaders and protection for Christian leaders and civilians worldwide. We intercede for the eradication of evil in and around elections, as Isaiah 33:15 says, "He who walks righteously and speaks blamelessly, he who despises the gain of oppressions, who gestures with his hands, refusing to take a bribe, who stops his ears from hearing of blood, and shuts his eyes from looking at evil— he will dwell on high." In Jesus' Name. Amen.
