Nasty witchcraft

We hear your distress and we stand with you in prayer together in Jesus' name, asking God to bring you peace and freedom from fear and torment. We understand how unsettling it feels when you sense spiritual attack, and we want to remind you that while witchcraft and sorcery are real and are an abomination to the Lord as written in Deuteronomy 18:10-12, they have no ultimate power over a child of God who abides in Christ.
The Word assures us that greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world, 1 John 4:4, and that no weapon that is formed against you will prevail, Isaiah 54:17. Scripture also declares that Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us, Galatians 3:13, and that there is no enchantment against Jacob, neither is there any divination against Israel, Numbers 23:23. When we submit ourselves to God and resist the devil he will flee from us, James 4:7, for God gave us authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing will in any way hurt us, Luke 10:19.
We also want to gently correct the desire to pray for God to punish the witches in the way of personal vengeance. We understand the hurt and anger that comes from feeling targeted, but the Lord calls us to a different posture. He says vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord, Romans 12:19, and Jesus taught us to love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, Matthew 5:44. Witchcraft will be judged by God, and it is right to ask Him to stop the evil and to bring justice according to His righteous will, but we also pray that those who practice such darkness would be convicted, repent, and come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, for God desires that none should perish.
We encourage you not to live in fear, for God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control, 2 Timothy 1:7. We put on the whole armor of God that we may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil, Ephesians 6:11, by staying rooted in prayer, in the Word, in worship, and in fellowship with other believers. We also encourage you to pray over your water and your food with thanksgiving, for every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be rejected, if it is received with thanksgiving, for it is sanctified through the word of God and prayer, 1 Timothy 4:4-5. Speak the name of Jesus over your home and your body, and declare His lordship aloud. If this sensation in your throat continues, we also encourage you to seek medical counsel to care for your body, while continuing to trust the Lord for spiritual protection, because sometimes physical causes can also be at work and God uses wisdom and care for our health.

We ask in Jesus' name that You would break off every curse, spell, and work of darkness that has been spoken or intended against them. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper and that every tongue that rises against them in judgment shall be condemned. We plead the blood of Jesus over their body, their mind, their throat, their water, and their home. Lord, fill them with Your perfect peace and drive out all fear and confusion. Let Your Holy Spirit bring comfort and assurance that they are safe in Your hands. We ask You to stop the works of those who practice witchcraft, to expose the darkness, and to bring Your righteous justice in Your perfect timing and way. We also pray for mercy for those who are lost in witchcraft, that You would convict their hearts and draw them to repentance and to the light of Christ. Heal our friend's body, soothe their throat, and let them drink and eat with thanksgiving and peace, knowing that You sanctify all things. Strengthen their faith daily as they put on the armor of God and walk in the authority You have given. We trust You as our protector and deliverer, and we give You all the glory. Your request has been heard and I want to respond with care and with truth from Scripture.
I understand how distressing it is to feel that something as basic as drinking water has become unpleasant and frightening, and to feel that unseen evil is behind it. The Bible teaches that spiritual evil is real, but it also teaches that Jesus Christ has overcome it, and that those who belong to Him are safe in His hands. Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world, and no curse or spell can separate you from the love of God in Christ or override His power to protect and keep you.
Because of that, we do not need to live in fear that water has been given power over us by others. God is sovereign over all creation, and Christ has broken the power of darkness through His cross and resurrection. He has given us baptism for the remission of sins and deliverance, and He has poured His Spirit into our hearts. Our call when we feel afraid or afflicted is to bear it patiently, to look to Him for deliverance in His time, and to set our minds on the kingdom and on His mercy rather than on fear of harm.
You asked for prayer that God would punish those you believe have harmed you. I understand that desire when you feel attacked, but Scripture directs us differently. Vengeance belongs to the Lord, not to us. We are not to rejoice at the punishment of others or to ask God to take vengeance for us as we desire, but to leave judgment in His hands and to pray instead for our own endurance, for deliverance from evil, and for those who do evil to come to repentance and know His mercy. If God delays judgment, it is not for us to demand it now, but to use the time to seek amendment of life and to pray that others may also repent while there is time. The fire and judgment to come are real, which is why we should desire mercy for all while we can still receive it.
So I will pray with you in this way, and I encourage you to pray this way also:
Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, I ask You to guard and keep this person who is troubled and afraid. Cover them with Your peace, break off all fear, and deliver them from every evil work and every lie of the enemy. Let them know that they are Yours and that no power of darkness can prevail against Your love. Heal any affliction in body or throat, bring comfort and sound rest, and help them to trust in Your protection each day. For those they fear or believe have meant harm, I ask not for their punishment but for Your mercy, that You would bring them to see the truth, to turn from darkness, and to find forgiveness and new life in Christ. Lead us all to seek Your kingdom and to walk in repentance and holiness, trusting Your perfect justice and Your perfect mercy. Amen.
In practical love, if this sensation in your throat when you drink continues, please also have it checked by a doctor or clinic to make sure there is not a medical cause such as an allergy, irritation, or an issue with your water source that can be tested and treated. Drink clean water, care for your body, stay connected to your local church, read Scripture, and pray regularly, especially the Lord's Prayer, asking daily for deliverance from evil.

Your distress is heard and your request for prayer is taken seriously. The sensation you describe with water feeling thick or strange as you swallow is very unsettling, and it is understandable that fear has risen up in you and that you would think of spiritual attack.
Scripture gives us a clear picture of what a curse truly is. In Deuteronomy the tribes stood in the valley with blessings pronounced from one mountain and curses pronounced from Mount Ebal for breaking God's covenant. After each curse the people were to answer Amen, acknowledging that God's judgment is right and true. There are many more verses about curses than blessings, because the people were prone to disobey. Those curses were not spells put on by other people, but the declared consequences from God Himself for turning away from His law. The point is that God alone is sovereign over blessing and cursing, and no witch or spell has authority above Him. For those who are in Jesus Christ, the great promise is deliverance from the power of darkness through His redemption, and that He is our protection.
That is why the Bible speaks so much about fear. Fear is a tool the enemy often uses to torment and to drive us into wrong thoughts and actions. Fear and faith cannot rule the heart at the same time. Where fear takes over, faith is pushed aside, and where faith and confidence in God are strong, fear must leave. The cure for fear is remembering the Lord, His presence, His power and His promises. David said though he walked through the valley of death he would fear no evil because the Lord was with him. Nehemiah recognized an attempt to make him afraid so he would act rashly, and he refused to be moved by fear, trusting that if God wanted to protect him, God was able to do it.
The beginning of true wisdom is the reverent fear of the Lord, which is described as hating evil and standing in awe of who God is, His greatness and holiness. This is very different from being afraid of people or of supposed spells. When we fear the Lord in that reverent way, we do not need to live in dread of other powers. God's truth is our shield. Jesus met the attacks of the enemy with the truth of God's Word, and we are called to do the same.
So I encourage you to turn your attention to the Lord rather than to the fear of what others may have done. Bring your body and your spirit to Him. It is also wise to have a medical evaluation for any ongoing throat or swallowing difficulty, while you also seek the Lord for peace and healing. Do not make decisions or prayers out of panic. God calls us to act with wisdom and prudence, not from terror.

We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer regarding the witchcraft you shared about and the distress you have felt when drinking water with that sensation like snot going down your throat. We have continued to lift you up before the Lord and to ask Him to break off every curse and spell that has been placed on your water and to surround you with His protection and peace.
We find comfort in the truth of Scripture that no weapon that is formed against us shall prosper as Isaiah 54:17 declares and that greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world as 1 John 4:4 reminds us. We have prayed that God would cleanse and break every work of witchcraft from your water and your body, bring healing and rest to your throat, and guard you from all evil. We have also prayed as you asked that God would bring His righteous justice concerning those practicing witchcraft, and we trust Him to do so according to His perfect justice and mercy as Romans 12:19 teaches us that vengeance belongs to the Lord.

We have prayed that God would cleanse and break every work of witchcraft from your water and your body, bring healing and rest to your throat, and guard you from all evil.
