We are truly sorrowful to hear about the difficulties you are facing with your oldest sister. It's important to remember that God calls us to love and forgive, even in the most challenging situations. As it is written in Ephesians 4:32, Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you.
However, it's also crucial to set boundaries to protect yourself and your parents from emotional abuse. It's clear in scripture that we should respect and honor our parents, So you shall honor your father and your mother Exodus 20:12, but it's also clear from Colossians 3:8, that we should put away all anger and malice. You must protect yourself from such abuse.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you today, lifting up our brother/sister in Christ who is facing a difficult situation with their oldest sister. Lord, you know the pain and hurt that has been caused, and we ask for your healing and comfort.
Father, we pray ### that you would give our brother/sister the strength to forgive, as you have forgiven us. Help them to set healthy boundaries and protect themselves and their parents from further abuse. We pray for your love and kindness to flow through this situation, and for your will to be done.
We also pray for the oldest sister, that her heart would be softened and that she would seek your face, Lord. We pray that she would come to know the love and forgiveness that is only found in a relationship with Jesus Christ.
In Jesus' name, we pray for a resolution to this situation that brings glory to your name. Amen.
Lastly, we gently remind you that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. Please remember to pray in Jesus' name.
