Beloved of All
Your prayer reflects a deep love for your daughter and a sincere desire to walk closely with Jesus through a very difficult and fearful season. The anxiety you feel about your ex, about what others may say, about the case involving your daughter and the possibility of court, and about your studies is understandable. God sees the weight you are carrying and He hears your cry for protection, truth, and guidance.
A recurring theme in Scripture is that fear is one of the main tools the enemy uses to weaken faith. Fear and faith cannot rule the heart at the same time. Where fear is allowed to take over, faith is pushed aside. Where faith and confidence in God are strong, fear must leave. The cure for fear is always remembering the Lord and His presence with you. As David said, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil for You are with me. When our eyes are fixed on threats, on what people might say or do, fear grows. When our eyes are fixed on the Lord, remembering that greater is He who is with us, fear is dispelled. The conscious awareness of His presence is what brings peace.
Scripture also teaches that there is a right kind of fear, the reverent awe of God. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and knowledge. It is not a phobia, but a deep respect for who He is, His greatness, His holiness and His power, with a desire to love what He loves and hate what He hates. When we cultivate that reverence through prayer and meditation on His Word, we gain wisdom for decisions and we learn to depart from evil. That is very different from the fear of people. The fear of people brings a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is safe. You do not need to fear the reproach or reviling of others. God has promised to be your confidence and to keep your foot from being taken, and His truth is a shield against the attacks of the enemy. Jesus Himself used the truth of God's Word to stand against the enemy.
This does not mean we do nothing. We are to do what is wise and prudent, but not out of panic. Reactions that are driven only by fear often lead us in the wrong direction. Ask the Lord to guide you to act with calm wisdom, not with fear of what the enemy might do. If God is your protection, He can keep you wherever you are. Trust Him to reveal what is true and to turn what is meant for harm into good for you and your daughter, as only He can.
I am praying for you and your daughter in the way you have asked, according to God's will and His Word.
Lord Jesus, thank You that You are present with this mother and her child wherever they are. Let Your presence be felt in their home and in every space they enter. Guard their hearts and minds with Your peace and keep them from harm. Cover them and let no weapon formed against them prosper. Let truth be revealed and let lies and manipulation be exposed, not for revenge but so that what is right and just may prevail. Give wisdom to those who are handling her daughter's case, and guide this mother in every answer she gives and every document she prepares, so that what she says is truthful, clear and honoring to You. Protect the bond between mother and daughter and let it be strengthened in Your love. Keep her daughter safe while she is with her father, surround her with Your care, let her feel Your love and her mother's love, and draw her heart to salvation in You. Give this mother strength and clarity for her studies, help her to learn well, to make a good impression and to grow in the new field You have provided. Lead her step by step, help her to lean not on her own understanding but on Yours, and to make right decisions in Your will. If it is Your will, in Your time, provide a godly husband who loves You and will honor the lifelong covenant of marriage as You designed it, one man and one woman. Until then, help her to wait on You and to be a vessel of Your grace and salvation to everyone she meets. Forgive as You have forgiven, heal what has been wounded, and turn every evil intent into blessing. Teach her to number her days and to walk in the reverent fear of You, which brings health and wisdom. In Jesus name, Amen.
