We join with you in lifting up your son before our Heavenly Father and we thank you for coming in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the throne of grace.
We are reminded that children are a precious gift from the Lord, as it is written Psalm 127:3 Behold, children are a heritage of Yahweh. The fruit of the womb is his reward. And we know that joy and laughter are part of His good gifts to us, Proverbs 17:22 A cheerful heart makes good medicine, and Psalm 16:11 In your presence is fullness of joy. In your right hand there are pleasures forevermore. We also take comfort that God cares for every detail of our lives and invites us to bring our requests to Him, Philippians 4:6 In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.

Father in heaven, we thank You for this son You have entrusted to this family and for Your love that watches over him day and night. We ask in the name of Jesus that You would grant him a happy and healthy night, filled with Your peace and protection. We ask that You guard his body and his mind, keep him from harm and sickness, and let him be refreshed and strengthened. We pray that You would surround him with good and godly friends and give him sweet fellowship where he can laugh and talk with joy that comes from You. Let his heart be light and his spirit be encouraged, and let Your joy be his strength. We pray that You would draw him closer to You and let him know how deeply he is loved by You. We have heard your request and we do join you in prayer before the throne of grace for your son.
It is a good and right thing to ask the Lord for lawful happiness for those we love, for He is the happy God, the Source and Spring of all happiness, and every good and perfect gift comes down from the Father of lights. We pray that the Lord in His mercy will grant your son a night of health and cheerfulness, that his mouth may be filled with laughter and his tongue with singing in a manner that is wholesome and pure, and that he may enjoy the comfort of kind and edifying fellowship with his friends.
We also remember that true happiness has its deepest spring not merely in health or in pleasant company, but in fellowship with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ. The pardon of sin brings true happiness, and those whose sins are forgiven through the atoning sacrifice of the Lord Jesus have a substantial joy which earthly mirth alone can never give. So we pray not only for a happy night, but that your son may know that higher happiness which comes from being reconciled to God by faith in Christ alone, for there is salvation in no other name under heaven.
May the Lord keep him in body and soul, guard his heart from all that would injure his soul prosperity, and cause his laughter and his conversation to be seasoned with gratitude to the Giver of all good.
