Silas
Beloved of All
Your prayer for your daughter is heard, and I join you in bringing her before the Lord in the name of Jesus.
The cry for God's help comes from knowing our own weakness and inability. Scripture gives us words for this, Make haste, O God, to deliver me, make haste to help me, for you are my help and my deliverer. When we are poor and needy, that is the right place to be, because it turns us to the One who alone can help. He is not slow because He does not care, and He does not need us to arrange the outcome for Him. One of the great lessons in Scripture is that when we try to help God out by our own schemes, as Abraham and Sarah did and as Jacob and his mother did, we create more sorrow. God does not need our help, but we desperately need His. You can trust Him to do what only He can do for your daughter, even when you cannot see how.
God sees your daughter and values her deeply. In the old accounts daughters were often not even named, only sons were counted as valuable, yet the Lord names and remembers the daughter and weaves her into His story. Your daughter is not overlooked or forgotten by Him. He knows her needs, her heart, and the breach that may feel as great as the sea. The prophet asked concerning the daughter of Zion, who can heal thee, and the answer is that the Lord Himself can. What feels too large for you to mend is not too large for Him. He is the one who can pour out healing and restore beauty where it has departed.
I also hear the weight you carry as a parent. Scripture shows a father who saw his only child come out to meet him and was bent over with grief, bowed down by love and sorrow for his daughter. God understands that kind of parental pain. When Zion spread out her hands there was no one to comfort her, and her friends dealt treacherously with her, but the Lord does not leave His people without comfort. Do not turn first to other helpers or to anxious striving. Turn to Him. He is a present help, and He was the help of David from his youth when as a young shepherd he faced the giant in the name of the Lord. The Lord said it is nothing for Him to help, whether with many or with those who have no strength.
So I pray with you now. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ who alone is our salvation, have mercy on this daughter. Draw her to yourself, keep her in your truth, guard her heart and her steps, and give her faith to trust you. Heal what is broken, comfort what is grieving, and protect her from harm and from paths that would lead her away from you. Give this parent wisdom, patience, and peace, and help them to wait on you rather than trying to force a solution. Let your will be done in her life, and let your name be glorified as you work for her good. Strengthen this family to walk in your ways, in purity and in faith, and to know that you are near to those who call upon you. Amen.
