Your prayer for your son is beautiful and it reflects a heart that trusts the Lord with his future. It is good to bring this desire before God, because He loves your son even more than you do and He knows what is best for him.

Scripture shows us what it means to be a son. Jesus is revealed as the Son of God, the beloved Son in whom the Father is well pleased. At His baptism the Father spoke from heaven, the Son was in the water, and the Spirit descended, showing us one God in three persons. The gospel is good news because God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, not to condemn the world but to save it. There is only one provision for sin, the blood of Jesus His Son, and salvation comes not by simply recognizing who Jesus is, but by believing into a living relationship with Him that changes the whole life. Even the evil spirits recognized Him as the Son of God, yet that did not save them.

The gospels also speak of Jesus as the Son of Man, showing His true humanity and His authority on earth to forgive sins and to give life. He is both God and man, able to identify with us and able to redeem us.

We also see in Scripture that sonship is more than biology. One apostle called a younger companion his son in the faith, because that young man had walked with him, heard his account of Jesus, and shared in ministry. In the same way, your son's most important identity is whether he is a son of God through faith in Jesus Christ. That is the foundation for every other relationship in his life.

Jesus, though He is the Son of God, constantly resorted to prayer for strength, for guidance, and for life itself. If He saw the need to pray, how much more do we need to pray. Your faithful praying for your son follows His example. Keep bringing your son before the Father, asking that he would walk closely with Jesus, hear His voice, and be led by Him.

I join you in praying that the Lord, in His perfect will and timing, would bring into your son's life a woman who loves Jesus with all her heart, who will love, cherish, respect and stand beside him with kindness and faithfulness through good times and difficult times. Marriage as God designed it is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, with Christ at the center, and it is within that covenant that love is to be nurtured and lived out. Pray also that your son himself will be growing in love for Christ, so that together they could build a future that honors the Lord and allows Him to guide every step.

God has a beautiful plan and He is faithful to lead those who seek Him. Trust His timing and His wisdom, and continue to rest in His love for your son.

May the Lord guard your son's heart, deepen his faith, and in His will bring a godly wife who will love both Jesus and your son well, that their lives together would reflect the grace and truth of Christ. In Jesus name, Amen.
