Lord Jesus, I pray that You bring a wonderful Christian woman into my son’s life—someone who will love him deeply, cherish him, respect him, and treat his heart with kindness. I pray that she will love You with all her heart and that, together, they will build a life with Christ at the center. If it is Your will, Lord, let them fall in love, get married, and create a beautiful future together, always allowing You to guide and lead their relationship. Please bring my son someone who will stand beside him through the good times and the difficult times, love him unconditionally, and never take him for granted. I trust that You know what is best for him and that You have a beautiful plan for his future. Please guide him toward the woman You have chosen for him. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

We join you in lifting up your son before the Lord, asking for His divine guidance and provision in this sacred matter of marriage. Your prayer is rooted in godly wisdom, seeking a wife for your son who will love him as Christ loves the church and who will prioritize the Lord above all else. This is a beautiful and biblical desire, and we stand with you in agreement, trusting that God hears and answers the prayers of His people.

The Word of God tells us in Proverbs 19:14, "House and riches are an inheritance from fathers, but a prudent wife is from Yahweh." Marriage is a gift from the Lord, and it is right to pray for a spouse who will honor Him and cherish your son in a way that reflects Christ’s love. We also hold fast to the truth that marriage is a covenant between one man and one woman, designed by God for mutual love, support, and the raising of godly offspring (Genesis 2:24, Malachi 2:15). As you pray for your son, we encourage you to also pray that he would be a man of godly character, walking in integrity, purity, and faithfulness, so that he may be a husband who leads his future wife in the ways of the Lord.

We must also address the importance of purity in this journey. The world often promotes relationships that are built on fleeting emotions or physical attraction, but God’s design for courtship is one of holiness and intentionality. We pray that your son would guard his heart and body, avoiding the snares of fornication, which the Bible clearly warns against (1 Corinthians 6:18-20). Instead, may he seek a wife in a way that honors God, treating her with the dignity and respect she deserves as a daughter of the King. Let us pray that both he and his future wife would remain pure until their wedding day, so that their union may be blessed and free from the consequences of sin.

Father God, we come before You with hearts full of faith, lifting up this precious son to You. Lord, You know the desires of his heart, and You know the plans You have for him, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give him a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). We ask that You would prepare his heart to recognize the wife You have chosen for him. Give him wisdom and discernment to seek a woman who loves You above all else, whose faith is strong, and whose character reflects the fruit of the Spirit. May she be a woman of kindness, respect, and godly submission, as the Scriptures teach (Ephesians 5:22-24, 1 Peter 3:1-6).

Lord, we pray that You would orchestrate their paths to cross in Your perfect timing. Remove any distractions or temptations that would lead him away from Your will. Guard his heart from relationships that do not honor You, and protect him from the lies of the enemy that seek to undermine the sanctity of marriage. May he be a man who seeks first Your kingdom and Your righteousness, trusting that all these things, including a godly wife, will be added unto him (Matthew 6:33).

We also pray for your son’s spiritual growth, that he would deepen his relationship with You, becoming a man of prayer, the Word, and godly wisdom. May he be a leader in his future home, loving his wife as Christ loved the church and giving himself up for her (Ephesians 5:25). Let their marriage be a testimony to Your goodness, a light in a dark world, and a reflection of the love between Christ and His bride.

Father, we trust in Your sovereignty and Your perfect timing. We know that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). So we surrender this request into Your hands, asking that You would work all things together for good for Your glory and for the good of Your children (Romans 8:28). May Your will be done in this matter, and may Your name be praised in every step of this journey.

Your prayer for your son is a tender and holy thing, and it is good that you have poured it out before the throne of grace. The love of a parent for a child, when it is sanctified by prayer, becomes one of the sweetest offerings that can be laid before the Lord.

You ask for a woman who will love the Lord Jesus with all her heart, and who will love your son with a faithful and cherishing love. This is a prayer according to the mind of God. For marriage is not a common or unholy estate. It is not a less sacred thing to be the married wife than to be the virgin consecrated to Christ, nor is it a less holy thing to build a Christian home than to stand in the pulpit. When Christ is at the center, the home itself becomes a temple, and the daily duties of love and fidelity become worship.

You do well to pray that they may build a life with Christ at the center, for the very crown of marriage is mutual delight and complacency under the Lord, where husband and wife become one. The Lord Himself says, I am married unto you, and He shows us what true union means. A Christian marriage should reflect that union, where each seeks not what is due, but what can be done for the other out of love to Christ. Pray therefore not only for a woman who is amiable and kind, but for one who is truly in Christ, for faith is imputed for righteousness to him who believes in the Son of God, and only those who are one in Him can walk together in lasting joy.

It is also the earnest desire of every godly parent that there may be a succession of godly men and women, that when the older generation passes away the next may be as good as their fathers, yea far better. Your son is blessed to have a parent who does not mislead him, but who points him to his father's God and to the law of his mother, and who keeps the commandment to seek first the kingdom of God. If his father and mother are what they should be, they are to that son a real model, and their prayers hedge his way about and invite blessing upon him.

Continue then to pray, and teach your son to pray also. The lively Christian when the storm bursts over him prays more than ever, and we have this confidence that God will glorify His dear Son in answering prayer. Encourage your son to walk in Christian association, to join himself to faithful Christian friends and to the fellowship of the saints where the Word is honored, for such company is of the utmost value in keeping us from sin and in guiding our affections aright. A wife who loves Christ is most often found where Christ is loved and obeyed.

We will join our supplications with yours. May the Lord in His wisdom and tender mercy guide your son to the woman whom He has chosen, a woman of sincere faith, modest and gracious, who will stand beside him in good times and in difficult times, who will not take his love for granted, but will cherish him as a gift from God. May He keep them both pure until that day when they may enter into the lifelong covenant of marriage, one man and one woman joined till death shall part them, and may that covenant be kept in holiness to the glory of Christ. And may your son first and most of all be found in Christ, washed in His blood, for once in the history of the world has the Son of God appeared to put away sin by the Sacrifice of Himself, and whosoever believes in Him has everlasting life.

We commend your son to the Lord who loves him with an everlasting love, trusting that He who gave His Son will with Him also freely give all things that are for his good. May the Lord remember Jesus and all His afflictions on our behalf, and for His sake grant your petition as seemeth best in His perfect will.

We ask the Lord to help both your son and his future wife to pursue holiness while they wait, living in chasteness and order as Scripture teaches. Marriage is honorable and pure, ordained by God as a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and it preserves the holiness that comes through faith in Christ by keeping hearts pure and undefiled. May the Lord keep your son from all that would dishonor Him and help him to wait with patience, self control, and reverence for God.
