I feel like I'm not good enough and I try my best with him, and I just ask Jesus please not have my boyfriend leave as we seem to be so happy together, but I often wonder if I am good enough for him as he sure is for me, and I love him so. I pray that we will continue to stay together. Amen

We hear your heart’s cry, dear sister, and we lift you up before the Lord with great compassion. Your feelings of inadequacy and fear of loss are deeply human, but we must first address the foundation of your relationship with both your boyfriend and with Christ.

Scripture tells us in 2 Corinthians 10:12, "For we don’t dare to classify or compare ourselves with some who commend themselves. But when they measure themselves by themselves, and compare themselves with themselves, they are without understanding." Your worth is not measured by your performance in this relationship or by your boyfriend’s approval. Your value comes from being fearfully and wonderfully made in the image of God (Psalm 139:14) and redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ. If you are finding your identity in this relationship rather than in Christ, it will always leave you feeling insecure, because no human can bear the weight of being your ultimate source of validation.

We must also lovingly address the reality that your relationship is currently built on a foundation that does not align with God’s design. You refer to this man as your "boyfriend," but Scripture is clear that romantic relationships between believers should be entered into with the intention of marriage, not merely companionship or emotional fulfillment. Courtship, not casual dating, is the biblical model, as it honors the commitment and covenant that marriage represents. Ephesians 5:31-32 says, "For this cause a man will leave his father and mother, and will be joined to his wife. The two will become one flesh. This mystery is great, but I speak concerning Christ and the assembly." If this relationship is not moving toward marriage, it may be wise to prayerfully consider whether it is honoring to God.

Additionally, we must ask: Are you and your boyfriend both committed followers of Christ? 2 Corinthians 6:14 warns, "Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?" If he is not a believer, your relationship is already on shaky ground, as it cannot be built on the mutual pursuit of godliness. If he is a believer, then the question remains: Is marriage the goal of your relationship? If not, you may be opening your heart to emotional and spiritual harm.

We also feel compelled to address the sin of fornication, which is any sexual activity outside of marriage. If you and your boyfriend are engaging in physical intimacy, this is a direct violation of God’s commands and grieves the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:18-20). Repentance and a commitment to purity are essential if you desire God’s blessing on your relationship. God’s design for intimacy is beautiful, but it is reserved for the covenant of marriage alone.

Now, let us pray for you with these truths in mind:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our sister, who is feeling unworthy and fearful in her relationship. Lord, we ask that You would first draw her heart fully to You. Remind her that her worth is found in Christ alone, not in the approval of any man. Help her to see herself as You see her, beloved, chosen, and redeemed. We pray that You would give her clarity about this relationship. If it is not Your will for her to continue in it, give her the strength to trust You and walk away. If marriage is the godly intention, then we ask that You would guide them both toward that commitment, but only after repentance, purity, and a shared foundation in You.

Father, we also pray for conviction where there is sin. If there is sexual immorality, bring repentance and healing. If there is emotional dependency outside of You, break those chains and redirect her heart to seek You first. Lord, we ask that You would either restore this relationship on godly terms or give her the grace to release it if it is not Your will. Above all, we pray that she would find her security, identity, and hope in You alone.

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can come before You. May Your will be done in her life, and may she experience the peace that surpasses all understanding as she trusts in You. Amen.

Sister, we encourage you to spend time in God’s Word, particularly in passages that speak to your identity in Christ (Ephesians 1, Romans 8) and His design for relationships (1 Corinthians 7, Ephesians 5). Seek godly counsel from mature believers who can help you discern whether this relationship aligns with God’s will. Remember, your worth is not defined by this man or this relationship, it is defined by the cross. If this relationship is not built on Christ, it will never satisfy the longings of your heart. Trust Him with your future, and He will direct your steps.

We truly understand the weight you're carrying, and we want you to know your feelings are valid. It's tough to feel like we're not enough, especially when our hearts are so invested. God sees your love and your efforts, and He doesn't measure you by what you think you lack. You are His beloved daughter, and that's what truly matters.

It might help to focus on strengthening your relationship with Christ first. When we draw near to Him, He reminds us of our worth and fills the voids we feel. Have you considered spending quiet time with Him, pouring out your heart in prayer and reading His Word? Sometimes, just being still before the Lord can bring such peace.

Let's pray together:

Heavenly Father, we lift this precious sister up to You. Lord, wrap her in Your love and remind her of her true identity in You. Heal the insecurities and fears that weigh her down. Help her to find her worth in Your unfailing love and acceptance. Guide her steps and show her the path You have for her. If this relationship is meant to be, align it with Your will and purpose. If not, give her the strength to trust You completely. We ask all this in the name of Jesus.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer these past days. It has been our heart’s joy to lift your relationship before the Lord, asking Him to quiet the whispers of doubt and fill your heart with the assurance of His love and purpose for you both.

We know how deeply you love your boyfriend and how much his presence means to you. The enemy would love nothing more than to plant seeds of insecurity in your mind, making you question whether you are truly enough. But God’s Word reminds us that we are fearfully and wonderfully made, and His grace is sufficient for every area of our lives. We have prayed that the Lord would strengthen your confidence in Him and in the love you share, that you would rest in the truth that He is the One who holds your relationship in His hands.

If the Lord has already answered this prayer in some way—if you’ve felt His peace, seen His faithfulness, or experienced a renewed sense of security in your relationship—we would love to hear your praise report. Sharing how God has moved can encourage others and bring glory to His name.

If, however, the weight of uncertainty still lingers, we invite you to post this request again so we can continue to stand with you in prayer. We believe God is at work, even when we can’t see it, and we want to keep lifting you both up until His peace and clarity surround you completely.

May the Lord continue to draw you closer to Himself and to one another, filling your hearts with His love and your minds with His truth. We pray this in the precious name of Jesus. Amen.
