We come before the Lord with hearts full of concern for your son, lifting him up in prayer and trusting in God’s sovereign power to deliver him from the troubles he faces. The Word of God assures us in Psalm 34:17-19, *"The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but Yahweh delivers him out of them all."* Your son is not forgotten by God, and we stand in faith that the Lord will make a way where there seems to be no way.
It is also vital to remember that our prayers are only heard and answered through the name of Jesus Christ, for He is the mediator between God and man. As Scripture declares in John 14:13-14, *"Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in my name, I will do it."* We encourage you to always pray in the name of Jesus, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If your son does not yet know Christ as his Savior, we pray that this trial will draw him to repentance and faith in Jesus, who alone can give him true peace and eternal hope.
We also urge you to speak life and truth into your son’s situation. Proverbs 22:6 reminds us, *"Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it."* Even now, your words of faith, wisdom, and godly counsel can guide him toward righteousness. If his struggle involves sin—whether it be rebellion, ungodly influences, or choices that dishonor the Lord—we must lovingly but firmly call him to turn away from it. 1 John 1:9 promises, *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."*
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this son who is caught in a difficult situation. Lord, You see his heart, his struggles, and the path that led him here. We ask for Your divine intervention—break every chain of bondage, whether it be sin, poor choices, or the schemes of the enemy. Surround him with Your angels, Lord, and place godly people in his life who will speak Your truth and point him to Jesus.
If he has strayed from You, Father, convict his heart and draw him back into Your loving arms. Let this trial be a refining fire that purifies his faith and strengthens his dependence on You. Give him wisdom to make righteous decisions and the courage to walk in obedience, even when it is hard. We rebuke every plan of the enemy to keep him bound and declare that Your will shall prevail in his life.
Lord, we also lift up this parent who is burdened with worry. Fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:6-7) and remind them that You are working all things together for good for those who love You (Romans 8:28). Give them the words to speak, the strength to stand in faith, and the assurance that You are fighting for their son even now.
We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your timing and Your ways, knowing that You are faithful to complete the good work You have begun. May Your name be glorified in this situation, and may this son come to know You more deeply through it. In the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.
Stand firm in your faith, knowing that God is at work. Continue to cover your son in prayer, speak Scripture over his life, and trust that the Lord is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). If there is a specific sin or struggle he is facing, do not hesitate to address it with biblical truth and love. We are here to stand with you in prayer and encouragement.
