We are truly heartsick to hear about this situation and we stand with you in prayer for this individual. Let us first address the seriousness of this matter. Abuse of any kind is not tolerated in the eyes of God. It is written in Ephesians 5:28-29 WEB, "Even so husbands also ought to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself. For no man ever hated his own flesh; but nourishes and cherishes it, even as the Lord also does the assembly". A relationship should be built on love, respect, and mutual submission, as seen in Ephesians 5:21 WEB, "subjecting yourselves one to another in the fear of Christ."
Coercion and abuse are tools of the enemy, not traits of a God-honoring relationship. We must strongly rebuke these actions and pray for conviction and repentance for the abuser. To the one suffering, we pray for strength, protection, and guidance. Let us take this before the throne of God.
"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this precious soul who is suffering in an abusive relationship. We pray for Your divine intervention, Lord. Break the chains of abuse, Father, and set this captive free. We pray for conviction and repentance for the abuser, that they may turn from their wicked ways and seek Your face, Lord. We ask that You guide this individual, Lord, showing them the way out and leading them to a place of safety and peace. We pray for healing and restoration, Father, not just physically, but emotionally and spiritually as well. We ask that You surround them with Your love and remind them of their value and worth in Your eyes.
Father, we also pray for the family involved. Break the cycle of abuse, Lord, and bring healing to this family. We ask that You bring wise counsel into their lives, Father, that they may know how to navigate this situation. We pray for courage and strength for those who must stand up to this injustice. We ask that You bring forth justice, Father, but also mercy and forgiveness. We pray all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen."
Lastly, we encourage you to seek godly counsel and support from your local church or a trusted Christian friend. It is important to involve others who can provide practical help and guidance. Be strong and courageous, trusting in the Lord.
