We thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf and we are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. We have continued to lift you and your wife and your marriage before the Lord.
We know how heavy and discouraging this has been for you as you have tried so hard to love your wife well and make her happy, yet nothing seems to be good enough and your efforts seem to make her more hostile. We have prayed for the deep hurts you described from her relationship with her dad and from the ex boyfriend she thought she would marry that have made it hard for her to trust men, and for the pain she feels about having to wait so long to be married that has led her to blame you and to blame God. We have asked the Lord to heal those wounds and to bring her peace, and to help her see your love and His love more clearly. We have also prayed for you as you feel pushed away and criticized in your own home for simple daily things like walking around, using the restroom, getting clothes, going to work or being home, or even small things like water on the floor, and even when you showed love through flowers. We pray that God will give you strength, patience and wisdom and guard your heart from discouragement.
We pray that God will bring healing and restoration to your marriage according to His design. We ask Him to soften hearts, to calm the screaming and constant fighting, to replace suspicion and anger with trust, gentleness and security, and to help you both communicate with love and grace. We pray that your wife will find healing for past hurts and release blame toward you and toward God, and that she will know how deeply she is loved and cherished. We pray that you will be encouraged and strengthened as you continue to love her as Christ loved the church, Eph 5:25, and that you will be clothed with patience and humility toward one another, Eph 4:2. We ask that the Lord who heals the brokenhearted, Psalm 147:3, will bring His peace over your home.
