We have heard your cry about your upcoming general session case and the fear you are carrying as you face the possibility of years for habitual driving without a license, and we are joining together to lift you and your babies before the Lord in Jesus name.

We understand your fear of being taken from your children whom you love so deeply, and we also hear your honesty in saying you made mistakes over the years that led to this situation. God sees both your love as a mother and the need for truth and repentance, and He draws near to the brokenhearted. Psalm 34:18 says Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Isaiah 41:10 says Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness.

We want to lovingly address what you have shared. God calls us to respect and obey the laws of the land, and repeatedly driving without a license is not only against the law but against His call to live in submission to authority. Romans 13:1 says Let every soul be in subjection to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God. Proverbs 28:13 says He who conceals his sins doesn’t prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy. 1 John 1:9 says If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Taking full responsibility before God and before the court without excuse, showing true repentance and a changed path, honors God and is also the best witness to the judge that your heart has turned.

We notice your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to gently remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and find salvation and true peace. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus Christ, confess with your mouth that He is Lord, believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and turn from sin to follow Him. Romans 10:9 says that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. This is the foundation for peace even in fear and for hope beyond any court outcome.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and lift this mother to Your throne of grace. Lord, You know her fear, her regret, and her deep love for her babies. We ask for Your mercy upon her case. We pray for the judge and all in authority over her case, that You would grant them wisdom and discernment and that You would allow a just and merciful outcome, and if it be Your will, a better option than being taken from her children, such as probation or another alternative that allows her to remain with her family and prove a changed life. Yet we pray above all that Your will be done. Forgive her sins as she confesses them, cleanse her heart, and help her to walk in obedience from this day forward, respecting the law and honoring You. Take away her fear and replace it with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Philippians 4:6-7 says In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Guard her heart and guard her children, provide for them, protect them, and surround this family with godly support and counsel. Help her to use this trial to draw closer to You and to raise her babies in the knowledge of Your love and truth. We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus, our only hope and Savior, amen.

We encourage you to continue to seek Him daily, to be completely honest and humble before the court, to work closely with your attorney, to not drive again without a legal license, and to show by your actions a true turning. Surround yourself with godly counsel and a Bible believing church family who can support you and your babies practically and spiritually. Trust that even in this hard season God can work for good as you trust Him. Romans 8:28 says We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. Keep praying and keep trusting Jesus with your future and your family.

We've been praying for you since we read your note. Facing court with the possibility of years away from your children would leave anyone feeling fearful, and your love for your babies comes through so clearly. It makes sense that this feels overwhelming.

We are asking God to give you steadiness in these days leading up to your court date, and wisdom for everyone involved in your case. We also pray for peace for your children as they sense your worry.

In the midst of the fear, there are a few steady steps that can help you feel a little more prepared. If you have an attorney, stay in close contact and make sure they know your full history and your role as a mom. Bring any paperwork that shows responsibility since those earlier mistakes, like proof of work, parenting responsibilities, or steps you have taken to address the license issue. If you do not have representation, reach out soon to the public defender's office or legal aid in your county. It also helps to have a trusted family member or friend who knows the plan for your children and can be present on your court day.

You do not have to carry this alone.

Father, we lift this mom to You, You see her fear and her deep love for her children. Give her calm and clear thinking in the days ahead, guide the judge and others deciding her case toward what is just and merciful, and provide for her babies with Your care. Hold this family close and lead them step by step. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your sorrowful and fearful request has been heard, and it has been laid before the Lord with tender concern for you and for your little ones.

You speak plainly that in years past you made mistakes, and that you never intended to be in this place. That honesty is right before God, for the first step of mercy is to own our need of it. The Scripture says, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him, on those who hope in His mercy. To hope in His mercy, even with a trembling hope, is a sure mark that His eye is upon you for good. His mercy is gratis. He never sells, He always gives. What but grace could take such as we are and make us children of God, and what but grace can snatch us from fear and lift us to hope.

You fear being taken from your babies, and that fear is natural to a mother whose children are her everything. Hear the word of the Lord for such fear, Fear not, thou worm Jacob, I will help thee, saith the Lord. The fear of God within the heart need make us to have no slavish fear of man. Yet fear itself is weakening and dishonors God when it forgets His mighty arm which piled the heavens. Let mercy be all your theme, for mercy like a river flows in one continued stream. The God of mercy goes before His people. Even when we were not fit to receive His mercy, His mercy came. While we were yet speaking He heard us.

We will pray for you in this way, that the Lord who delights in mercy would be glorified in showing you mercy. We pray that He would grant you a true turning to Christ, who is the Messenger of mercy to the lost, for He came to seek and to save that which was lost and to make sinners feel the way of salvation as well as know it. If you have not already, cast yourself wholly upon Jesus Christ alone for salvation, confessing your sin and trusting His blood and righteousness as your only plea. There is no other name by which we must be saved.

We pray also for your case before the earthly court. Kings and magistrates have power to condemn and power to pardon, and we pray that the Lord would incline the heart of the judge to justice tempered with mercy, and that if it be His will, He would open a better option than you fear, as a royal mandate of Deliver him opens the prison doors. We pray that you may be given wisdom to walk honestly before the court, to take responsibility for what is past, to seek godly counsel and lawful help, and to order your steps henceforth in obedience and diligence for the good of your children. For the Lord has said, Great shall be the peace of thy children, and in righteousness shalt thou be established.

We pray for your babies, that the Lord who pities His children as a father pities his children would keep them, provide for them, and let no terror come near them. May He supply what you cannot supply alone, and raise up help for your family in this hard lot.

May the Lord in infinite mercy help you not to be weary in doing good, but to be found faithful as a mother, caring for your little ones in daily duty as well as in prayer. Cast your burden upon Him, for He cares for you, and rest in that free, rich, sovereign mercy which pleads with the sinner and will not break the bruised reed nor quench the smoking flax.

We continue to bear you and your family before the throne of grace, asking that whether by deliverance or by sustaining grace in trial, you may know that the God of your mercy has gone before you and will not leave you nor forsake you.
