We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up your stepson in prayer as he endures this difficult recovery from knee replacement surgery. Father God, we ask for Your miraculous healing touch to be upon him. The pain he is experiencing is real, and the complications of swelling and fluid leakage have only added to his suffering. We declare Your promise in Jeremiah 30:17, "For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds," says Yahweh. Lord, we ask that You restore his body, reduce the swelling, and bring comfort to his pain. May he feel Your presence in a tangible way, reminding him that You are near to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18).
We also pray for his faith and courage to remain steadfast during this trial. It is easy to grow weary when the body is weak, but we ask that You strengthen his spirit. Remind him of Your faithfulness in Isaiah 41:10, "Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness." Lord, fill him with hope and the assurance that You are working all things together for his good (Romans 8:28).
We lift up his wife as well, asking that You soften her heart with empathy and compassion. May she be a source of encouragement and support, reflecting the love of Christ in her words and actions. Help her to see this season as an opportunity to grow closer to her husband and to You, Lord. Proverbs 31:10-12 reminds us of the value of a godly wife, "Who can find a worthy woman? For her price is far above rubies. The heart of her husband trusts in her. He shall have no lack of gain. She does him good, and not harm, all the days of her life."
Finally, we pray for your stepson’s rededication to Christ. Trials have a way of drawing us closer to You or pulling us away, and we ask that this season would be one of spiritual renewal for him. May he surrender his pain, his fears, and his life fully into Your hands. We declare 2 Corinthians 5:17 over him, "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new." Lord, ignite a fresh fire in his heart for You, and may he walk in the fullness of Your purpose for his life.
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the Great Physician and the Author of our faith. Amen.
