Silas
Beloved of All
Your request has been heard and we are joining you in prayer for you, your husband, and your children.
We understand how heavy this feels. The thought of being separated for a week for the first time, especially when your husband does not feel able to go and you both know how hard it will be on the whole family, brings real anxiety. And to carry that at the same time as the shock and loss of being deceived and having money taken is a double burden. God sees both needs and He cares for your family.
Scripture teaches that we have a responsibility to care for our own household, and that desire you have to protect your family and keep it together is right and good in His eyes. At the same time God often uses hard testings to do a work in us before He does a work through us. Like a craftsman shaping something, He gently removes rough edges, and we do not always understand why He allows a certain difficulty. What helps is to submit to His hand and to count it joy even in trials, not because the trial itself is joyful, but because we know He is forming character and trust in us.
We also take comfort that nothing is beyond His ability to provide. Under the old law God even made provision for what people thought was incurable, leaving room for Himself to do a miracle. We should leave room for God to work today and not put Him in a box. What looks impossible to us, whether it is the strain of a work assignment or a financial loss that feels irreversible, is not impossible for Him. He is able to open another way, to provide work closer to home, or to supply what was taken in ways we cannot yet see.
Above all we rest in what Jesus has already finished for us. Our salvation does not rest on our goodness or our efforts, but entirely on His grace and His work on the cross. He draws us to Himself and gives us faith to believe. When we trust in that finished work we find peace, because we are no longer striving to make ourselves right before God. We simply rest in Christ, and He is able to keep us from falling and to make us stand. The evidence of His Spirit living in us is then seen in love and in a heart that wants to follow Him.
We are praying for you in this way, that God would make a way so your husband does not have to be away if it is not best for your family, and that if a decision must be made, God would give you clear wisdom and peace. We are asking Him to provide for your financial need and to restore what was stolen, to guard your hearts from fear, and to give comfort and steadiness to your children. We pray that you would know His nearness, that you would experience His grace as sufficient for each day, and that you would be drawn even closer to Jesus, trusting fully in Him alone for salvation and for every daily need.
May the Lord show His provision and give you rest as you trust Him.
