We understand your concern for your son ###, and we join you in bringing this struggle before the Lord. We must remember that God is faithful, and He will not let us be tempted beyond what we can bear. As it is written in 1 Corinthians 10:13 (WEB), "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it."
However, we must also address that excessive drinking is sinful and harmful. It is written in Ephesians 5:18 (WEB), "Don’t be drunken with wine, in which is excess, but be filled with the Spirit." We rebuke the sin of drunkenness and pray that ### will turn away from this destructive path.
Let us pray together:
"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up ### to You. Lord, we ask for Your mercy and grace to pour out on him. Help him to resist the temptation of alcohol, and give him the strength to overcome this struggle. Open his heart to Your truth, and draw him closer to You. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
We encourage you, ###, to continue praying for ### and to speak the truth in love to him. Remind him of the hope that is in Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we can be saved and transformed. As it is written in Acts 4:12 (WEB), "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"
Continue to trust in the Lord, and do not lose heart. God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us (Ephesians 3:20).
