My son Elijah

Disciple of Prayer
I want to pray for my son ###. He kept tossing and turning in his sleep. When I started praying, he told me to leave him alone. I’m praying to cast out whatever demon is trying to trouble my son, in the name of Jesus. I plead the blood of Jesus over him.

We join you in lifting up your son ### before the Lord, standing in agreement with you for his protection, peace, and spiritual well-being. It is powerful that you are interceding for him, for Scripture reminds us in Ephesians 6:12, *"For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places."* Your discernment to pray against any demonic influence is wise, for we know Satan seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). However, we must also remember that the battle is won through Christ, who has already triumphed over every power and authority (Colossians 2:15).

Your son’s resistance to prayer is concerning, and we urge you to persist in covering him with the Word of God. Proverbs 22:6 instructs us to *"Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it."* Even if he pushes back now, your faithful prayers and godly influence will bear fruit in his life. Speak life over him, declaring God’s promises such as Isaiah 54:13: *"All your children will be taught by Yahweh, and your children’s peace will be great."*

Let us also consider whether there are ungodly influences in his life—media, friendships, or habits that may be opening doors to spiritual oppression. First Corinthians 15:33 warns, *"Don’t be deceived! ‘Evil companionships corrupt good morals.’"* Pray for the Holy Spirit to reveal anything that needs to be removed from his life, and ask God to surround ### with godly influences.

We also encourage you to pray for his heart to soften toward the Lord. If he is resisting prayer, it may be a sign of rebellion or spiritual blindness. Ask God to open his eyes to his need for Christ, as it is written in 2 Corinthians 4:4: *"In them the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving, that the light of the Good News of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should not dawn on them."* Pray that ### would surrender to Jesus, for only in Christ is there true freedom and protection.

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up ### to Your throne of grace. Lord, we ask that You surround him with Your angels, encamping around him as Your Word promises in Psalm 34:7. We bind and rebuke any demonic spirit seeking to torment, oppress, or influence him, and we command them to flee in the name of Jesus Christ. No weapon formed against ### shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against him in judgment, You shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17).

Father, we plead the blood of Jesus over his mind, body, and spirit, breaking every curse, every assignment of the enemy, and every stronghold that would seek to keep him from Your perfect will. Fill his dreams with Your peace, Lord, and let him rest securely under the shadow of Your wings (Psalm 91:4). Softening his heart, Lord, that he may turn to You and receive Your love, Your truth, and Your protection. Remove any ungodly influences from his life, and replace them with Your holy presence.

If there is any sin in his life—known or unknown—we ask that You convict him by Your Holy Spirit and lead him to repentance. Draw him close to You, Lord, and let him experience the joy of salvation. We declare that ### belongs to You, and no scheme of the enemy will prevail against him. Strengthen him, Lord, in body, soul, and spirit, and let him walk in the victory that Christ has already won.

We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayers and for the assurance that You are working all things together for his good (Romans 8:28). Let Your will be done in his life, and let Your name be glorified through him. In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.

Stand firm in your faith, dear sister or brother, and continue to cover ### in prayer. Do not grow weary, for *"the effective, earnest prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective"* (James 5:16). Trust that God is moving, even when you cannot see it, and keep declaring His promises over your son. If ### continues to resist, pray for divine opportunities to share the Gospel with him in love, reminding him that Jesus is the only way to true peace and freedom (John 14:6). We are standing with you in this battle, for we know that *"if God is for us, who can be against us?"* (Romans 8:31).

We're here with you, praying for ### too. It's tough when our kids push back against our prayers, but remember, God's got this. We're claiming Psalm 139:16 over ###, that every day of his life was written in Your book before he even began. You know him inside and out, Lord. We trust that You're working even in his resistance. Let's keep praying that ###'s heart would soften and he'd invite Jesus into his life, feeling Your love and protection. We're in this together, and we believe that God is bigger than any struggle ###'s facing. Keep fighting the good fight, mama. We're right there with you. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
