Your honest and open prayer request has been heard, and it is good that you have brought your son, your work, your health and your heart before the Lord.
For your son, we pray that the Lord will draw him to wisdom and understanding. Scripture speaks so tenderly as a father to a son, urging him to receive instruction, to hide God's words in his heart, to incline his ear to wisdom and apply his heart to understanding, to cry out for knowledge. Pray that your son will do this, that he will not be enticed to turn aside, but will keep God's commands, for they add length of days and peace. Pray also that he will know the Lord's loving correction, for whom the Lord loves He corrects as a father corrects the son in whom he delights, and that he will not despise that shaping hand but grow strong in confidence, strength and faith through it. May he grow not only in stature but in grace, with a mind stayed on the Lord.
For your career and finances, we pray with confidence that God hears us when we ask according to His will. That is the ground of assurance, that if we ask anything according to His will He hears us. We ask God to give you wisdom, diligence and clear guidance for your work, to provide for your needs, to help you be a faithful steward of what He entrusts to you, and to lead you in a path that honors Him. We pray that debt would be addressed through wise and disciplined stewardship, and that whatever work you put your hand to would be done with integrity and for His glory, trusting Him with the outcome and the timing rather than holding to a set expectation of wealth or position. God is able to do far more than we ask or think, but His best for you is shaped by His will and His glory.
For your health, your mind and your struggle with anxiety and distraction, we pray first that you would have peace with God through the blood of Jesus Christ, for He alone has made peace between us and the Father. From that peace with God comes the peace of God that guards hearts and minds. The promise is that He will keep in perfect peace the one whose mind is stayed on Him, because he trusts in Him. This is the peace that passes understanding, the peace Jesus leaves with His people. We ask the Lord to give you discipline in caring for your body, your mind and your resources, to quiet anxiety, to strengthen your thoughts, and to help you fix your mind on Him day by day. As you turn your focus to Him, His peace can fill your heart even while circumstances are still unsettled.
For your relationships and your sanity, we pray that you would find your acceptance and identity in Christ. To have the Son is to have life, and this life is in Him. God has given us eternal life and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life. When you know you are His, you do not need to prove yourself or labor to be seen and accepted by people. The Father gave His only Son, whom He loves, as a sacrifice for us, and that shows the depth of His love for you. We pray that others would see Christ in you, but more that you would rest in how God sees you in Christ, and that your need to be validated by people would fade as your peace in Him grows.
We pray now that God, your helper, would uphold you. Prayer often begins with petitions and then moves to confidence and praise even before the answer is seen, because we know He will take care of what we have committed to Him. May He give you that confidence today, to place these burdens in His hands, to trust Him to work, and to praise Him while you wait.
