We join you in lifting up your sister before the Lord and we thank you for asking for prayer in Jesus' name, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is by His name that we are saved and heard.
We are so sorry to hear that your sister has been hospitalized and is facing health issues that doctors have not yet been able to explain. We know how worrying and helpless it can feel to watch a loved one suffer and to wait for answers. We pray for God's healing hand upon her and for His wisdom to guide her medical team.
The Word reminds us of God's heart to heal, as it says in Jeremiah 30:17, But I will restore health to you and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh. And in Psalm 147:3, He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. We also cling to the promise in Psalm 103:2-3, Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases.
We pray together for her now.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear sister to You. Lord, You know her body, You formed her, and nothing is hidden from You. We ask that You would lay Your healing hand upon her and bring restoration to whatever is causing these health issues. We pray that You would give her doctors supernatural wisdom, discernment, and clarity to quickly find the root cause and to provide the right treatment. Guide every test, every decision, and every person caring for her. Comfort her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, ease any fear or pain, and let her feel Your presence in that hospital room. Strengthen her family as they wait and worry, and help them to trust You in all things. We ask all of this in the healing and holy name of Jesus, our Great Physician, amen.
We encourage you to continue to trust the Lord through this trial and to pray without ceasing for her. James 5:15 tells us, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. Keep speaking the name of Jesus over her, keep reading the Word over her, and if possible, ask believers to anoint her with oil and pray for her as the elders are called to do. God is able to do far more than we ask or think, and even as we pray for complete healing, we also pray that this time would draw your sister and your whole family closer to Him. Your tender request for your sister has been laid before the Lord with you, and we join our hearts to yours in intercession. Intercessory prayer is the sweetest prayer God ever hears, for it bears the likeness of Christ Himself who ever lives to make intercession for His people. What wonders it has wrought, and how it has stayed plagues and brought down blessings from on high when the prayer of faith is offered with hope.
You do well to bring her before the throne while she lies in the hospital and the physicians seek to find the cause of her affliction. Though you may feel at your wit's end and your prayer seems to have little order in it, God will hear the prayer of a staggering man. A true prayer from one who is near unto the gates of death is a prevailing prayer. They were a long while before they prayed to the Lord, but He was not a long while before He answered their prayer.
We look to the Great Physician, from whom abundant streams of healing flow down to men below. The leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is full of healing virtue. There is no stint in Jesus healing power. Though the sick soul is full of need, the Savior is full of grace. And healing and pardon are placed in happy conjunction, for when the Sun of Righteousness rises with healing in His wings, His people find both forgiveness and restoration. Let your prayer rise to His throne out of the low dungeon, expecting that He will be very pitiful and will have compassion upon you in your misery.
Let us plead His promises together, for true prayer is spreading our case before Him and pressing our suit with all the arguments His Word affords, saying with David, Remember the Word unto Your servant.
