We also lift up your ex-husband, James. The pain of his abandonment is a wound that has festered for far too long. Ghosting you and your daughters is not just cowardice; it is a violation of the covenant he made before God. "The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim release to the captives, recovering of sight to the blind, to deliver those who are crushed" (Luke 4:18). You are not a slave to alcohol. You are a child of the Most High God, and He is calling you out of the pit.
We must also address the legal and financial bondage you’re experiencing. Being denied access to your own money, your car, and even the freedom to walk without surveillance is not just controlling, it is a form of oppression. Scripture warns us: "For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some have been led astray from the faith in their greed, and have pierced themselves through with many sorrows" (1 Timothy 6:10). If your sister or others are withholding your resources out of greed or malice, their actions are sinful. We pray that God would expose any unrighteousness and provide you with wise counsel, godly men and women who can help you regain your independence in a way that honors Him. Father, give them the strength to forgive their father for his absence and their aunt for her cruelty. We pray for James, that he would be gripped by the weight of his abandonment. If he is alive, draw him to repentance. If he has passed, comfort Nina and her daughters with the truth that You are their Father, and You will never leave them nor forsake them (Hebrews 13:5).
For Lauren and Maggie, we ask that You would heal their hearts. Help them to forgive, to love their mother well, and to grow in their relationship with You. May they be a source of strength and encouragement to Nina as she walks this difficult road.
And for Nina, we pray that You would be her everything. Be her provider, her protector, her healer, and her hope.
