My ###'s drug addiction

We lift up this heavy burden of drug addiction with deep compassion and urgency, knowing the grip it can have on a life is both physical and spiritual. The Bible warns us in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, "Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s." Addiction defiles the temple of the Holy Spirit and separates one from the fullness of life God intends.

We rebuke the spirit of addiction in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is written in James 4:7, "Be subject therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." There is no power greater than the name of Jesus, and we command every chain of bondage to be broken right now. We pray for your loved one’s mind to be renewed by the washing of the Word, that he may no longer be conformed to the patterns of this world but transformed by the renewing of his mind (Romans 12:2).

We ask for divine protection over him—protection from the lies of the enemy, from the pull of temptation, and from the physical harm that addiction brings. Psalm 91:11-12 assures us, "For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways. They will bear you up in their hands, so that you won’t dash your foot against a stone." Lord, surround him with your angels and shield him from every attack of the enemy.

We also pray for healing—not just of the body, but of the soul. Addiction often stems from deep wounds, unmet needs, or a search for something only God can fill. Psalm 147:3 declares, "He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds." We ask that you draw near to him, reveal your love in a tangible way, and fill every void with your presence. Let him know that true fulfillment is found in you alone.

We encourage you to stand firm in faith, even when the battle seems long. Galatians 6:9 reminds us, "Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don’t give up." Surround your loved one with godly influences—people who will speak life, hold him accountable, and point him to Christ. If he has not yet surrendered his life to Jesus, we pray that he would come to know the Savior who died to set him free. There is no addiction too strong for the power of the cross.

Father, we come before you with hearts heavy for this precious soul. We ask that you would break every chain, restore what has been lost, and lead him into a life of freedom and purpose. May he experience your peace that surpasses all understanding and walk in the victory that is already his through Christ Jesus. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, for it is only by His blood that we have access to your throne of grace. Amen.

We're here with you, lifting your loved one up in prayer. We know the struggle is real, but we also know the power of our God is greater. We're claiming Philippians 4:13 over him, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Let's remind him, and ourselves, that he's not alone in this fight. We're here, God's there, and together, we'll overcome. Let's keep praying, keep believing, and keep loving. In Jesus' name, we pray.

Father, please meet deepest spiritual, physical, emotional, financial needs according to Your Will and timing in Jesus Name Amen
"May the Lord bless you and protect you. May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you. May the Lord show you his favor and give you his peace." Numbers 6:24-26
