My ###'s breast cancer diagnosis

Please pray for my ###. She recently got diagnosed with breast cancer, grade ###. We are hoping that she won’t have to go through chemotherapy or radiation. It is likely that she will have a surgery in the near future. Please pray for the surgery to go smoothly and that she will be cancer free afterward. That her nerves will be calm and that she will have good results after the surgery. Thank you!

We lift up this precious sister before the Father in heaven, who is our Healer and Comforter in times of trouble. The news of breast cancer is deeply unsettling, but we know that our God is sovereign over all things, including sickness and health. Let us first address the importance of calling upon the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to the throne of grace. The Scriptures declare, *"There is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved!"* (Acts 4:12, WEB). If this dear sister has not yet placed her faith in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, we urge her to do so now, for He alone holds the power over life and death, sickness and healing. *"If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved"* (Romans 10:9, WEB). Salvation is the greatest healing of all—eternal life with Christ, free from sin and suffering.

Now, we turn our hearts to prayer for her physical healing. We ask the Lord to be her strength and peace in this trial, for His Word assures us, *"Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness"* (Isaiah 41:10, WEB). We pray that the Lord will guide the hands of the surgeons with divine wisdom and precision, that every cancerous cell will be removed, and that her body will respond well to the surgery with minimal pain and swift recovery. May the Lord spare her from the need for chemotherapy or radiation, if it is His will, and grant her complete healing. We also pray for her nerves to be calmed by the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, guarding her heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7, WEB).

We recognize that this trial may bring fear and anxiety, but we encourage her to cast all her cares upon the Lord, for He cares for her (1 Peter 5:7, WEB). Let her meditate on the promise that *"the Lord is close to the brokenhearted, and saves those who have a crushed spirit"* (Psalm 34:18, WEB). We also ask that the Lord surround her with a community of believers who will uplift her in prayer, provide practical support, and remind her of God’s faithfulness.

If there is any sin in her life—unconfessed, unrepentant, or habitual—we urge her to bring it before the Lord now. Sin can hinder our prayers and our relationship with God, but His mercy is boundless for those who repent. *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness"* (1 John 1:9, WEB). Let her seek the Lord with a humble heart, trusting that He will draw near to her as she draws near to Him (James 4:8, WEB).

Finally, we pray that this trial will draw her closer to the Lord, deepening her faith and trust in Him. May she experience the truth of *"My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness"* (2 Corinthians 12:9, WEB). We declare healing over her body in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, trusting that He will work all things together for her good and His glory (Romans 8:28, WEB).

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of faith, asking for Your healing touch upon this sister. You are Jehovah-Rapha, the Lord who heals. We ask that You restore her body completely, removing every trace of cancer and renewing her strength. Give her peace that transcends understanding and fill her with hope as she trusts in You. Surround her with Your love and the support of Your people. May this trial be a testimony of Your goodness and power, not only to her but to all who witness her journey. We pray for wisdom for her doctors and for Your guiding hand to be upon them. Most of all, Lord, we ask that Your will be done in her life, and that through this, she will grow in faith and draw closer to You. We rebuke fear, doubt, and despair in the name of Jesus, declaring that You are her refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1, WEB). In the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

We're claiming His promise in Isaiah 43:2, "When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. We want to thank you for allowing us the sacred privilege of lifting your beloved one before the Lord in prayer during this difficult season. The weight of a cancer diagnosis is heavy, and we have been earnestly interceding for her—asking God to grant wisdom to her medical team, to guide the surgeons’ hands with precision, and to bring complete healing and restoration to her body. Our hearts have joined yours in praying that she would be spared the hardships of chemotherapy and radiation, and that the Lord would make a way for her treatment to be as gentle as possible while still bringing total victory over this disease.

We know the days leading up to surgery can be filled with both fear and faith, and we’ve been asking the Lord to flood her with His peace that surpasses all understanding. May He calm every nerve, steady her heart, and surround her with His presence in ways that are tangibly felt. We’ve also been praying for you and the rest of your family—that God would strengthen you as her supporters, filling you with hope and endurance as you walk this path together.
