We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up your right leg and the pain that has taken residence there. Father God, we know that You are the Great Physician, the One who heals all our diseases (Psalm 103:3). We ask that You would stretch forth Your healing hand upon this dear one, touching every nerve, muscle, and bone in their right leg. Bring restoration, Lord, and let them walk in freedom from this pain. Your Word declares that by Your stripes, we are healed (Isaiah 53:5), and we stand on that promise today.
We don’t always understand why suffering comes, Lord, but we know that You work all things together for good for those who love You (Romans 8:28). Even in this pain, we ask that You would draw this beloved one closer to You, that they would find comfort in Your presence and strength in Your promises. Help them to trust in You, even when the hurt doesn’t make sense. Remind them that You are near to the brokenhearted and save those who have a crushed spirit (Psalm 34:18).
We also rebuke any spirit of infirmity or oppression that may be at work in this situation. In the name of Jesus, we command every source of pain to leave this body and every attack of the enemy to be broken. The thief comes only to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we may have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We declare that this pain has no place in this life, and we stand on the authority of Jesus’ name to see healing manifest.
Father, we ask that You would also minister to the weariness of spirit that comes with ongoing pain. Strengthen this dear one in their inner being, that they would not grow weary in doing good, for in due season, they will reap if they do not give up (Galatians 6:9). Surround them with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, and guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
We pray for wisdom for the doctors and medical professionals involved in their care. Give them insight and discernment to provide the right treatment and guidance. And above all, Lord, let Your will be done. Whether through healing now or strength to endure, we trust You to be their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).
In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.
