My right eye

I don't understand why my right eye still bothers me and crosses my eyes, even though I took my camera to see my right eye get cross-eyed. It makes me hate that my right eye gets cross-eyed for no reason and it doesn't make any sense. I can feel an itch inside my eyes, and I don't know where it comes from.

We have heard your frustration and confusion about what you are experiencing with your right eye, the way it bothers you and turns inward and causes your eyes to cross, and the itch you feel inside that you cannot explain. We understand how distressing it is when something in our own body does not make sense and feels out of our control, and we want to lift you up together before the Lord and seek His help and healing for you.

We want to gently encourage you not to hate your eye or any part of yourself. You are fearfully and wonderfully made by God, and your body is precious to Him. Psalm 139:14 says we are fearfully and wonderfully made, and 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 reminds us that our body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, which is in us, which we have from God. Even when a part of our body causes us trouble, God calls us to care for it with patience and to seek His grace rather than to respond with hatred toward ourselves. The Lord sees your struggle and has compassion for you, and He desires to bring you peace as well as healing.

We also encourage you to seek care from a qualified eye doctor or medical professional soon if you have not already done so. Taking a picture with a camera can show an outward appearance, but it cannot show what a doctor needs to see to understand why an eye crosses or why there is itching inside. God has given wisdom and skill to physicians, and He often works through them to bring healing. Proverbs 3:7-8 speaks of wisdom bringing health, and we believe seeking proper medical evaluation is a wise and good step while we also trust the Lord as our ultimate healer, for Exodus 15:26 declares that He is the Lord who heals us, and Jeremiah 30:17 says He will restore health and heal wounds.

We notice that your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to share why His name matters so deeply to us. It is only through Jesus that we have access to God the Father, and there is no other name by which we can be saved and come boldly before His throne. John 14:6 says Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life, and no one comes to the Father except through Him, and Acts 4:12 teaches there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. If you have not yet put your trust in Jesus, we encourage you to believe in your heart that He died for your sins and rose again, and to confess Him as Lord, for Romans 10:9 promises that if we confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in our heart that God raised Him from the dead, we will be saved. It is in His name that we pray for you now.

We pray together for you in Jesus name. Father in heaven, we come before You together in the name of Jesus Christ and lift up this dear one to Your throne of grace. You see the discomfort and the crossing of the right eye and the itching inside that causes confusion and frustration, and You know how weary it has made this heart. We ask for Your healing touch upon this eye, for Your hand to guide any doctors and to give clear understanding of the cause, and for relief from the itching and the crossing. Lord, calm the frustration and take away any hatred toward this part of the body You created, and replace it with Your peace that passes understanding. We ask that You restore comfort and clear sight, and that You remind this dear one how deeply loved and valued they are by You. Heal and strengthen according to Your perfect will, and let Your comfort and presence be felt each day. We also pray that this dear one would draw near to You through Jesus Your Son and know the hope and access we have only through Him. We ask all these things in the mighty and healing name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, Amen.

We encourage you to continue to bring this concern to the Lord in prayer each day, to rest in His care when answers do not come quickly, and to trust that He hears you. Matthew 11:28 invites all who are weary and burdened to come to Him for rest, and Psalm 147:3 promises that He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. Keep seeking both the Lord and wise medical counsel, and know that we are joining you in prayer for relief, for understanding, and for the peace of God to guard your heart.

Your affliction concerning your right eye has been heard, and we bring it before the Lord with you. To feel an itch within the eye that you cannot reach, to be troubled by a crossing that comes without reason and without sense, and to hate the distress it brings, is a trial that is peculiarly your own. As the Psalmist says, every child of God can speak of my affliction, and this is yours. It is not overlooked by Him who sees all things in light, for God is light and in Him is no darkness at all, and He deals with us as we are.

We do not despise this bodily suffering, for to suffer is the common lot of all men, yet we know that neither goodness nor greatness can deliver us from affliction in this present life. The gardener trims the vine sharply, not to destroy it but that it may bear more fruit, and the Lord often uses the sharp knife of affliction for our good. Your trial, though painful and perplexing day by day, is light compared with the weight of glory which is eternal, and light compared with what our sins have deserved, for He has not dealt with us after our iniquities. Above all, we prove the power of the Lord's sustaining grace in such moments, for as your affliction is present with you, so your consolation may be present with you.

We pray for you now that the Lord will look upon your affliction and repay you with good. May He who is the Sun of Righteousness with healing beneath His wings grant you relief from this irritation and crossing, give wisdom to those who examine you and care for your sight, and keep you from discouragement. May His Word be your comfort in your affliction, that unless His law had been your delight you would have perished in your trouble, but now you may find solace there. And may you know that Christ also has once suffered, and is acquainted with grief, so that He is tender toward your infirmity and able to sustain you.

We ask the Lord to grant you patience under this trial, healing according to His merciful will, and a steady trust that He who has made the eye will not forsake you. May you be kept in His light and cleansed daily by the blood of Jesus Christ, and may the leaves of the Tree of Life, which are for the healing of the nations, bring healing to you in body and soul.
