My return to mother heart

Anonymous

Beloved of All
My prayer is for my mother to truly return to her old self—with a heart that is genuine, not one possessed by the devil—so that when she wakes up in the morning, she is full of smiles and free from anger.

We hear the deep longing in your heart for your mother’s restoration, and we join you in bringing this burden before the Lord with fervent prayer. The desire for a parent to return to a place of joy, peace, and godly affection is a sacred one, rooted in love and hope. We recognize the pain of seeing a loved one gripped by anger, hardness of heart, or spiritual oppression, and we stand with you in faith, believing that God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we ask or think.

First, we must address the spiritual reality you’ve named, that her heart may be influenced by forces contrary to God’s will. Scripture warns us that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against spiritual hosts of wickedness (Ephesians 6:12). The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), and his tactics often include deception, bitterness, and division within families. But we serve a God who is greater than all darkness, and in the name of Jesus, we rebuke every spirit of anger, hardness, and deception that may be at work in her life. We declare that no weapon formed against her shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we command every lying spirit to flee in Jesus’ mighty name.

It is also critical to examine whether there are unrepentant sins or unforgiveness in her life that may be creating a foothold for the enemy. Scripture is clear: "If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me" (Psalm 66:18). Bitterness, resentment, or unconfessed sin can harden the heart and open the door to spiritual oppression. We pray that the Holy Spirit would convict her of any areas where she has strayed from God’s truth and bring her to a place of repentance and restoration. Let us also remember that our battle is not against her, but for her, we must approach this with love, humility, and intercession, not accusation or frustration.

We must also lift up your own heart in this situation. Watching a parent struggle can bring deep sorrow, and it’s easy to carry the weight of their spiritual condition. But God calls us to cast our cares upon Him, for He cares for us (1 Peter 5:7). We pray that you would be filled with His peace, trusting that He is working even when you cannot see it. Your role is to love her, pray for her, and speak life over her, not to carry the burden of her salvation, for that is the Lord’s work alone.

Now, let us pray together in faith:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this mother to Your throne of grace. Lord, You know the depths of her soul, the struggles she faces, and the battles waging in her spirit. We ask that You would break every chain of anger, bitterness, and deception that has taken hold of her. In the name of Jesus, we rebuke every spirit of hardness and oppression, and we declare that Your light will shine into the darkest places of her heart.

Father, we pray for a supernatural work of Your Holy Spirit in her life. Soften her heart, Lord, and draw her back to You with cords of love. Let her wake up each morning filled with Your joy, free from the weight of anger and strife. Restore to her the joy of Your salvation (Psalm 51:12), and let her smile reflect the peace that only You can give.

We also pray for wisdom and discernment for her child, that they would know how to love and support her without enabling sin or taking on burdens that are not theirs to carry. Give them patience, grace, and a spirit of intercession as they stand in the gap for their mother.

Lord, we trust in Your promise that if we ask anything according to Your will, You hear us (1 John 5:14). We believe that it is Your will for this mother to walk in freedom, joy, and righteousness. Strengthen our faith as we wait on You, and let us see the fruit of our prayers in her life.

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can approach You and the only name by which we are saved. May Your will be done in her life, and may Your glory be revealed through her restoration. Amen.

We encourage you to continue standing in faith, even when the circumstances seem unchanged. God is often at work in ways we cannot see, and His timing is perfect. Surround yourself with fellow believers who can pray with you and remind you of God’s promises. Speak life over your mother, declare Scripture over her, bless her with kind words, and show her the love of Christ in action. And remember, the battle is the Lord’s (1 Samuel 17:47). Keep pressing into Him, and trust that He will bring beauty from ashes (Isaiah 61:3).

We hear the deep ache in your words, the longing for your mother to wake up with a genuine smile again, free from the anger that's taken hold. It's painful to watch someone you love seem so distant from the person you know they truly are. That kind of watching and waiting can wear you down, and we want you to know we don't take your concern lightly.

When someone we love is struggling, it can feel like we have to figure out exactly what's wrong and fix it. But sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is simply stay present and love them steadfastly, even when their heart feels closed off. Your love for your mother, the kind that prays for her genuine heart to return, is itself a reflection of God's own faithful, pursuing love. That doesn't mean you carry the weight of changing her; that burden isn't yours to bear alone.

One thing that can be quietly helpful is paying attention to moments where her guard comes down, where she seems more open or more herself. Crisis research reminds us that people often become more accessible during vulnerable moments, not to manipulate, but to connect. Your steady, patient presence in those windows can be a gentle anchor, even without many words. And in the meantime, asking God to give you wisdom to know what to do with what you see, and peace to trust Him with what you cannot yet see, is no small act of faith.

Lord Jesus, we lift up this mother to You. You know her heart completely, its hurts, its heavy places, and the real woman beneath all that anger. Bring healing where she is wounded, peace where she is restless, and a genuine softening that leads to genuine smiles again. And for the one who loves her and prays for her, grant steady hope, patience, and the comfort of knowing they do not carry this alone. We trust You with her days ahead. In Your name, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The cry of your heart has reached the ears of the Lord, and it is a piercing thing, a longing for your mother’s soul, that she might rise in the morning with smiles and a spirit freed from anger. This is no small request, for you have touched the very seat of the malady: the heart, the heart, the heart, that is the vital place! A heart that seems possessed, a heart that burns with fury, is a heart in chains, and no human hand can break those fetters. But blessed be God, He has found a ransom, and He still delivers captives from the power of darkness.

You speak of her “old self,” but remember, dear soul, that a mere return to former sweetness will not suffice if the heart remains a stone. What is needed is not a repaired outward demeanor, but a new heart altogether, a regeneration wrought by the Holy Spirit. The Lord has a way of entering the heart, not with a crowbar, like a burglar, but with a master key which He gently inserts, and the bolt flies back. Pray, then, not merely that she smile again, but that she be pricked in the heart by the arrow of Christ’s glance, even as Peter was when the Lord looked upon him. That look broke his heart into a thousand pieces, yet it was the beginning of perfect restoration. Our blessed Master is thinking of your mother at this very moment, and His heart is going out towards her.

Yet take heed yourself. What a blessed thing it is to have a tender conscience! In your longing, do not let anger against second causes fester within you. If you strike a dog with a stick, he will bite the stick; moderate your spirit, lest you also fall into bitterness. And while you wrestle for her, recall your own shortcomings, your slackness in prayer, your hardness of heart, and let that drive you to the bleeding heart of Jesus, which alone can stanch the wound. God has turned hearts before, and He took no vengeance upon me, so take heart: His grace shall shine brighter, and He has not forsaken you or your mother. Look to the Master, give your whole heart to this intercession, and trust Him who brought Israel forth with silver and gold, for He can bring her forth from this pit. Deliverance is of the Lord, from first to last.
