Your prayer has been heard, and it is good that you bring this before the Lord, because nothing is hidden from Him even when much is hidden from others. You describe a tension of kin yet not kin, of not turning toward family while sensing God may be turning your heart toward kin, and you wonder about consequences that are numbered and placed in time and location, and whether those consequences rightly involve you, your mother, your younger brother, or your family background at all.
Scripture shows that God often works quietly within family lines for a purpose that only becomes clear later. Esther was raised by her cousin Mordecai after her own parents had died, and for a season he instructed her not to reveal her people or her family. She obeyed that wise counsel, and he walked daily near where she was to know how she was faring. It was not a denial of who she was, but a waiting on God's timing. Later, when danger came upon her people, Mordecai reminded her that if she remained silent, deliverance would still arise from another place, but she and her father's house would not escape, and that perhaps she had been brought to her position for such a time as this. The point is that God weaves circumstances together, He sustains families according to His providential plan as He did in sustaining Jacob's family through Joseph in Egypt, and nothing in that weaving is coincidence. Even when you choose non participation, God still numbers and places consequences justly, and He sees the heart behind the choice.
You also mention numbered personifications and spiritual entities appearing in the years before and after ###. It is important to remember that fear greatly magnifies and distorts what we see. When Jacob heard that his sons were in trouble in Egypt, his fear made him say all things are against me, which was not true. Fear is the enemy of faith. Where fear is allowed to take over, faith departs, and where faith and confidence in God are strong, fear leaves. The cure for fear is remembering the Lord, as David said though I walk through the valley of death I will fear no evil for you are with me. We are to do what is wise and prudent, but not to be driven by fear of what might attack us. The fear of the Lord is the beginning and the sum of knowledge, and to fear the Lord is to hate evil and depart from it. That holy fear brings health to the soul, while the wicked often are in great fear where no real cause for fear exists, because God scatters those who set themselves against His people.
Guilt also has a way of coming to the surface. You cannot hide guilt from yourself, and you cannot hide it from God. David said his sin was ever before him until he acknowledged it. A guilty conscience will nag and seek relief, sometimes in strange behaviors, until it is brought to God in confession. There is nothing that removes that burden like coming to God and receiving His cleansing and forgiveness through Jesus Christ. The yearly sacrifices of the old tabernacle could not fully free the conscience, but Christ has entered the true presence of God to take guilt away completely. If you are carrying guilt about family, about turning or not turning, about what happened in those years, bring it plainly to Him. He does not punish you in order to relieve you, He has already borne the punishment, and He restores you to fellowship so you can again be part of the family of God with a clear conscience.
Regarding whether those consequences involve your mother, yourself, your younger brother, or your family background, know that God judges each person justly and individually. He does not arbitrarily impute the deeds of others to those who had no part in them, and He does not overlook what was truly done. His knowledge is perfect in time and place, and He will sort what belongs to whom. Your responsibility is to walk faithfully before Him now, to hate what is evil, to love what is good, to seek reconciliation where He leads and to maintain wise boundaries where He shows you to wait, as Esther did for a time. If God is turning your heart toward kin, follow that leading in prayer, in truth, and in obedience to His Word, trusting that His deliverance and enlargement will come in His way and His time.
May the Lord give you faith to replace fear, forgiveness to replace guilt, and wisdom to know how to honor Him in relation to your family. May He keep you from being driven by dread, and may you know the joy of being cleansed and kept by Jesus, who alone is the way of salvation, and who calls us to walk in purity and truth within the covenant He has ordained. I pray He will guide your steps, guard your heart and mind, and make His presence very real to you as you remember Him and trust Him day by day.
