MY PEACE I GIVE YOU
But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you, Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. John 14:26-27
What a powerful scripture and full of promises! Will you read it again and ask the Holy Spirit to make it come alive to you personally? Will you allow the greatest Counselor of all, the Holy Spirit to teach you and remind you of all things that you need to know for marriage restoration and any other problems you are facing right now? I pray that you will seek the Holy Spirit asking Him to guide and direct your every step as you pray for your marriage to be resurrected and rebuilt by the power of God.
I know the pain that you are in, but do not be afraid. Do not fear your tomorrows. The Lord is right there beside you and He wants to give you His peace. The enemy wants you to live in torment and fear. May I suggest you write the scripture in John 14:26-27 on an index card. You can put it in different places to remind you that the Lord wants you to walk in His peace every day. He does not want your heart to be troubled, to be anxious, to worry or to be afraid. This peace is a supernatural peace from the Lord.
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.†John 16:33
You are possibly going through the darkest hours of your life due to many different circumstances that you are facing right now. Your emotions and feelings may be going up and down like an electrocardiogram. Regardless of your problems, I pray that I can encourage you to seek the Lord when all you can do is fall on your knees and cry out for His divine help and intervention in your crisis that you are facing today. Your Lord God can give you His peace in the midst of any storm that you are facing.
Then he got into the boat and his disciples followed him. Without warning, a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Lord, save us! We're going to drown!†He replied, “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?†Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm. The men were amazed and asked, “What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!†Matthew 8:23-27
Do you feel like you are in a boat with a storm of circumstances that is trying to drown you and your family? Does your storm look like there is not an end to it and all that you can see is total darkness, wind, thunder and lightning? The waves are tossing you to and fro, but your Lord Jesus is right there with you. Go to Him and He can rebuke the winds and the waves, so that the waves will become calm. I know the fear that you are battling, but Jesus is your only true answer! God will give you the peace that you are seeking.
When I am afraid, I will trust in you. Psalm 56:3
When you have unexpected trials and tribulations happen - stop, cry out and call on Jesus to help you. Allow the Lord to be there in the darkest hours of your life. He is the only One that can help you. He will give you peace and give you answers to the most impossible circumstances. Yes, the enemy is out to steal, kill and destroy you, your marriage and your loved ones. We know and totally understand personally, BUT GOD is greater!
The LORD is my light and my salvation — whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life — of whom shall I be afraid? Psalm 27:1
The Lord is wanting you to learn that all you need to have is faith and trust in Him regardless of the storms of life that you are facing each day. Know who you are in Christ. Walk in faith and victory regardless of your circumstances. Tell your Lord all the problems, laying them all at His feet every day and pray, “Lord, I surrender everything to You. Lord, show me Your will and way. You can move all my mountains in my life. I will hold Your righteous right hand. I am choosing to obey and follow You each and every day. In Jesus Name I pray. Amen.â€
Is fear, doubt and unbelief starting to rise up inside of you? Ask the Lord to remove all your fears, your doubts, your hopelessness, your anxieties, your lack of faith, your anger and especially your unforgiveness that is raging on the inside of you now. Your Lord understands all your circumstances, emotions and feelings that are coming against you or your family. Ask the Lord to calm your worries, your fears, and anxieties every day. Let God give you peace right now.
...The LORD is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts, and your minds in Christ Jesus...Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me -- put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you. Philippians 4:5b-7, 9
A daily walk with the Lord will give you an inner peace and strength from the Holy Spirit. You must read His Word daily to get strength, wisdom, knowledge and understanding. You need to know and grow in the Lord. I made so many mistakes during our marriage due to my lack of knowledge of God's Holy Word. (Hosea 4:6) You need to start praying by just talking to the Lord as if you were talking to your best friend. He is waiting for you to call on Him. If you are hurting too much, just cry out the name of “Jesus†over and over again. All of a sudden, you will know that the Lord is right there beside you.
There is peace in the midst of every dark storm. The enemy is trying to destroy or torment you, by giving you fear and hopelessness. Recognize the enemy. Stand up and start fighting the enemy with the Word of God. Pick up your Bible, and speak out loud some of the promises of God using the Sword of the Spirit. The enemy has to flee from you! Tell the Lord you trust Him, have faith in Him, know that He is your refuge, fortress and peace in your life.
Your spouse will never have the peace that we are talking about until they turn from their present disobedient or sinful lifestyle. That is why your daily prayers are so important. You are standing in the gap, interceding for them that they will humble themselves, crying out to God with godly sorrow, repenting and turning from their selfish, sinful ways. We know of so many prodigals that say they never have peace. They do not sleep well and are always wanting to find peace for their life. What does God say?
“There is no peace,†says the LORD, “for the wicked.†Isaiah 48:22
...Their deeds are evil deeds, and acts of violence are in their hands. Their feet rush into sin; they are swift to shed innocent blood. Their thoughts are evil thoughts; ruin and destruction mark their ways. The way of peace they do not know; there is no justice in their paths. They have turned them into crooked roads; no one who walks in them will know peace. Isaiah 59:6-8
Jesus is the only answer for all sinners, prodigal spouses and children who have chosen to sin and live a life of disobedience, sexual immorality and selfishness. They discarded their spouse and children for a counterfeit that will never give them happiness or peace.
He came and preached peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near. Ephesians 2:17
Today, allow the Lord to give you His perfect peace in the midst of your storm. Let us start praying for Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. Have you ever fasted? Will you join our ministry to fast at least one meal a week or even better possibly one meal a day? We want you to pray for your beloved spouse and all prodigal spouses and children around the world. We want many prodigal spouses and children to come home for the holidays. At Bible study on Monday night a new stander and believer told me that his wife just agreed to come to their house for Thanksgiving dinner with their children. What a praise report!
God can deliver, heal and restore broken lives and broken marriages. Nothing is too hard for God to do. Let us pray that thousands of hurting spouses will make a new commitment to their marriages and surrender their lives to the Lord's commands through this holiday season.
Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace at all times and in every way. 2 Thessalonians 3:16
