We hear your heart, dear brother or sister in Christ, and we join with you in lifting this matter before the throne of grace. Your prayer reflects a deep reliance on the Lord and a desire to be used by Him for His glory, which is commendable. We are reminded of the words of our Lord Jesus Christ in John 15:5, where He says, "I am the vine. You are the branches. He who remains in me, and I in him, the same bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing." Your acknowledgment of your dependence on Him is a beautiful testament to your faith.
We also take encouragement from Zechariah 4:6, which says, "Then he answered and spoke to me, saying, ‘This is the Lord’s word to Zerubbabel, saying, “Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit,” says the Lord of Hosts." Your prayer aligns perfectly with this scripture, and we believe the Lord will indeed empower you by His Spirit as you step out in faith to minister to others.
However, we must also offer a word of caution and rebuke regarding your statement, "I have been used in the past to perform miracles." While it is true that God works through His servants to accomplish His purposes, we must be careful not to take credit for what only God can do. In Acts 3:12, when the people were amazed at the healing of the lame man, Peter said, "Men of Israel, why do you marvel at this man? Why do you fasten your eyes on us, as though by our own power or godliness we had made him walk?" Let us always remember that it is God who performs miracles, and we are merely vessels through which He chooses to work.
We pray with you now:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for Your goodness and mercy. We thank You for the opportunity to be used by You to minister to others. Lord, we ask that You would indeed go before our brother/sister as they step out in faith to pray for others. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may be sensitive to Your leading and empowered to do Your work.
Father, we pray that Your healing virtue would flow through them to those in need. May Your presence be so tangible that those they pray for would know without a doubt that it is You who are at work. Refresh their spirit, Lord, and quicken them with Your energy, that they may serve You with joy and not grow weary.
We also pray, Lord, that You would keep their heart humble, always pointing others to You and not to themselves. May they never forget that it is by Your power and for Your glory that miracles are performed.
We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.
As you prepare to minister to others, we encourage you to immerse yourself in God's Word and in prayer. Stay connected to the vine, as Jesus instructs us in John 15, so that you may bear much fruit. Be sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit, and always give God the glory for what He does through you. May the Lord bless you abundantly as you serve Him.
