My ### passed away and I'm overcome with anger

Please pray for me, I lost my Dad in a very unexpected sudden accident he was only ###, he led a full and amazing life he died doing a hobby he loved, I just wish he could have been blessed with more years, I was so blessed and am so grateful to have such an amazing father in my life we weren't related by blood but he is and always will be my Dad. The grief I can deal with but the anger I feel is unbearable please pray for me, my faith is waning and I feel so alone. Please Lord be with me.

We grieve with you in this sudden and heartbreaking loss, and we lift you up before the Lord with deep compassion. The pain of losing someone so dear—especially in such an unexpected way—can feel overwhelming, and the anger you’re experiencing is a real and raw part of that grief. But we want to gently remind you that even in this storm, God has not abandoned you. He is near to the brokenhearted, and He collects every tear you shed (Psalm 34:18, Psalm 56:8). Your father’s life, though cut short by earthly standards, was a gift from God, and we praise Him for the love and legacy he left in your heart. That bond is eternal, and nothing—not even death—can separate you from the love he poured into you (Romans 8:38-39).

Yet we must also address the anger and the wavering faith you’ve described, for these are battles the enemy seeks to exploit. Anger, when left unchecked, can become a root of bitterness that defiles not just your heart but your relationship with God (Hebrews 12:15). It’s okay to bring that anger to the Lord—He can handle your honest emotions—but don’t let it fester into resentment toward Him. Remember Job, who, in his grief, still fell to his knees and worshipped, saying, *"The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away. Blessed be the Lord’s name"* (Job 1:21). Your pain is valid, but so is God’s sovereignty. He is not the author of this tragedy, but He is the only One who can redeem it.

As for your faith waning, we urge you to cling to Christ now more than ever. You cried out, *"Please Lord be with me,"* and that is a prayer He will always answer. But we notice you didn’t invoke the name of Jesus in your request, and that is the *only* name by which we are saved, the *only* name that gives us access to the Father (Acts 4:12, John 14:6). If you have not yet surrendered your life fully to Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we plead with you to do so now. Eternal life is found in Him alone, and it is through Him that you will find the strength to walk through this valley. *"Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me’"* (John 14:6). If you *have* trusted in Christ, then lean into that truth now—He is holding you, even when you can’t feel it.

You mentioned feeling alone, but you are not. The body of Christ is here to surround you, and the Holy Spirit is your Comforter (John 14:26). We also want to gently ask: Do you have a community of believers walking with you through this? If not, we strongly encourage you to seek out a Bible-believing church where you can be loved, supported, and pointed back to Scripture in this season. Isolation is a dangerous place for grief to take root.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we lift up our sister to You, knowing that You are the God of all comfort who comforts us in all our affliction (2 Corinthians 1:3-4). Lord, the pain of this loss is so deep, and the anger feels unbearable. We ask that You would meet her in this place, not as a distant God, but as a Father who weeps with her. Softening her heart, Lord, and replace her anger with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Remind her that You are close to the brokenhearted and that You save those who are crushed in spirit.

Father, we rebuke the lies of the enemy that would seek to turn her heart away from You in this time. Strengthen her faith, Lord. If she has not yet surrendered her life to Jesus, we pray that today would be the day she cries out to Him for salvation. And if she has, we pray that You would anchor her deeply in Your Word and Your promises. Surround her with Your people, Lord—those who will mourn with her, pray with her, and point her to You.

We thank You for the gift of her father’s life and the love he showed her. We ask that You would honor his legacy by continuing to work in her heart, drawing her closer to You. May she find hope in the truth that one day, because of Jesus, there will be no more death, no more sorrow, and no more pain (Revelation 21:4). Until then, be her strength, her shield, and her ever-present help.

In the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer, we pray. Amen.

We will continue to pray for you, sister. Hold fast to Jesus. He is your hope, your healer, and your peace. If you’d like to share more or need further encouragement, we are here. *"Cast all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you"* (1 Peter 5:7). You are loved.

We're so sorry to hear about your sudden loss. It's completely normal to feel overwhelmed with grief and anger right now. We're here with you, praying for you in Jesus' name.

We want to remind you that even in the darkest times, God is still on His throne. He hasn't abandoned you, and He's right there with you in your pain. We're thinking of that verse in Psalm 34:18, "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." He's not distant or uncaring; He's right there, weeping with you.

We also want to encourage you to keep your heart open to God. It's okay to feel angry, but try not to let that anger turn into bitterness towards Him. Remember, He's big enough to handle your honest emotions. And even in your grief, you can still choose to trust Him.

Please, please, reach out to a community of believers too. You don't have to go through this alone. A church family can provide so much support and love during this time.

Let's pray together:

"Dear Heavenly Father, we lift up our friend to You today. Lord, we ask that You would comfort her in her grief. Help her to feel Your presence, even in the midst of her pain. Help her to trust in You, even when it's hard. Help her to let go of the anger and bitterness, and replace it with Your peace.

Lord, we ask that You would surround her with Your people. Give her a community that will love her, support her, and point her back to You.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
