Disciple of Prayer
My parents keep arguing. There saying really mean and hurtful things to each other. My dad has a really bad spirit I don't think he really has a relationship with God anymore and my mom is sad and hurt by the things he has said she's been insecure about him saying she should get a bbl for years. Please pray for me and my sisters and mom and dad have joy and peace, comfort, and my dad will realize his sins and not try to be prideful and not apologize. Most of all, I want my kind and loving mom to be happy and not be insecure about her body. And more people will compliment her and God will show me every day the best ways I can make her happy.

We hear the pain in your heart as you share about the strife in your home, and we lift this burden before the Lord with deep compassion. The words spoken between your parents are not just hurtful—they are weapons that wound the spirit, and we grieve with you over the brokenness this has caused. Scripture tells us, *"A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger"* (Proverbs 15:1 WEB), yet it seems your father’s words have been anything but gentle. The enemy delights in division, especially within families, and we must stand against his schemes with the authority we have in Christ.

First, we must address the spiritual condition of your father. You mentioned he does not seem to have a relationship with God anymore, and this is a matter of eternal significance. Jesus said, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me"* (John 14:6 WEB). Without Christ, there is no true peace, no lasting transformation, and no victory over the sin that fuels his hurtful words and pride. We pray fervently that the Holy Spirit would convict him of his need for repentance and restoration. *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness"* (1 John 1:9 WEB). Lord, break through the hardness of his heart and draw him back to You.

Your mother’s pain is also heavy on our hearts. The enemy has used your father’s words to plant seeds of insecurity in her, and we rebuke that spirit of shame in Jesus’ name. God’s Word declares, *"The LORD does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart"* (1 Samuel 16:7 WEB). Her worth is not defined by physical appearance but by her identity as a beloved daughter of God. We pray that she would find her security in Christ alone, knowing that *"charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised"* (Proverbs 31:30 WEB). Father, surround her with Your love and remind her daily of her value in Your eyes.

We also lift you and your sisters before the Lord. Witnessing conflict between parents can leave deep scars, and we pray that God would heal any wounds in your hearts. *"He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds"* (Psalm 147:3 WEB). You are not responsible for fixing your parents’ marriage, but you can be a light in your home. Ask God to show you how to love your mother well, as you’ve asked, and to be a source of encouragement to your sisters. *"Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven"* (Matthew 5:16 WEB). Your kindness and prayers can make a difference.

Now, we come before the throne of grace on behalf of your family:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this family to You. Lord, we ask that You would intervene in their home and bring peace where there is strife. Soften the heart of this father, that he would see the damage his words and pride have caused. Convict him of his sin, Lord, and lead him to repentance. Restore his relationship with You, and let him experience the transformative power of Your love. We rebuke the spirit of pride and hardness in his heart, and we declare that he will humble himself before You and his family.

For this mother, Father, we ask that You would heal her wounds and lift her out of insecurity. Remind her daily of her worth in Your eyes, and let her find her identity in Christ alone. Surround her with people who will speak life and truth into her, and let her experience Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Help her to forgive, even when it is hard, and to trust You with her heart.

For these children, Lord, we ask that You would be their comfort and strength. Heal any wounds they carry from witnessing this conflict, and let them know that You are their refuge. Show them how to love their parents well, even in the midst of difficulty, and use them as instruments of Your peace in their home.

We pray for unity in this family, Lord. Let love cover a multitude of sins, and let Your presence fill their home. We declare that joy will return to this household, and that laughter will replace the sound of arguing. We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, the Prince of Peace, who alone can bring true reconciliation. Amen.

We encourage you to continue praying for your parents, even when it feels hopeless. God is able to do immeasurably more than we ask or imagine (Ephesians 3:20). Trust Him with your family, and lean on Him for your own strength. You are not alone in this—God sees your tears and hears your prayers. *"Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you"* (1 Peter 5:7 WEB). Keep your eyes on Him, and He will guide you through this storm.

We're right there with you, dear one, feeling the weight of the tension at home. It's tough seeing loved ones hurt each other, but remember, God sees and hears it all. Let's pray together, shall we?

First off, let's ask God to soften your dad's heart. We know he's been speaking harshly, and that's not the way of our loving Father. Let's pray for a change of heart, for him to see the pain he's causing and turn back to God. We claim Romans 12:2 over him, that he would be transformed by the renewing of his mind.

For your mom, let's pray for healing and security. We know she's been hurt and is feeling insecure. Let's ask God to remind her of her worth in His eyes, and to fill her with His love and peace. We claim Psalm 147:3 over her, that God would heal her broken heart and bind up her wounds.

As for you and your sisters, we pray for strength and wisdom. It's not easy seeing your parents like this, but remember, you can be a light in your home. We claim Matthew 5:16 over you, that your love and kindness would shine brightly and bring glory to God.

Now, let's pray together for your family:

"Dear Lord, we come to You today with heavy hearts, but also with hope. We ask that You would intervene in your family, bringing peace where there's strife. Softening your dad's heart, Lord, help him see the damage his words and pride have caused. Convict him of his sin, Lord, and lead him to repentance. Restore his relationship with You, and let him experience Your transformative power.

For your mom, Lord, we ask that You would heal her wounds and lift her out of insecurity. Remind her daily of her worth in Your eyes, and let her find her identity in Christ alone. Surround her with people who will speak life and truth into her, and let her experience Your peace.

For these children, Lord, we ask that You would be their comfort and strength. Heal any wounds they carry, and let them know that You are their refuge. Show them how to love their parents well, even in the midst of difficulty, and use them as instruments of Your peace in their home.

We pray for unity in this family, Lord. Let love cover a multitude of sins, and let Your presence fill their home. We declare that joy will return to this household, and laughter will replace the sound of arguing.

In Jesus' mighty name, we ask all of this. Amen."
