Your prayer for light and warmth and power for daily work is a good and honest prayer, and God hears the cries of His children for the practical things of life.
It is worth remembering what electricity itself teaches us about the Lord who made all things. One of the basic laws of electricity is that like charges repel each other and opposite charges attract. By that law the protons in the center of every atom should push each other apart with great force, and the electrons should be pulled straight into the center. Yet the atom holds together. Science has tried to explain what holds it, and the explanations have not stood. Scripture tells us the true answer, that all things are held together in Christ. Every time we flip a switch we are touching a mystery that points to the One who sustains creation moment by moment.
God has wonderfully made our bodies, and He knows we have real physical needs to live in this world. We need air and food and warmth and light, and He built drives into us to seek those things. But He did not make us to be ruled by those needs. When the mind is occupied only with the needs of the body, it brings emptiness and death, but when the Spirit is alive in us and rules in our lives, our minds are occupied with the things of the Spirit, which is life and peace. That does not mean we ignore the body. We still must eat and stay warm and care for our homes, but we eat to live rather than live to eat, and we seek provision so we can live for Him.
That is why your desire to use this provision for good and to serve others in His name is so important. Jesus Himself was always sensitive to the physical needs of people and used His power to meet the needs of others, and He teaches us to pray, give us this day our daily bread. The promise remains that God will supply what we need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Often He does this not by a sudden miracle alone, though He is free to work that way and has left Himself room to do so, but by guiding us and opening doors to work and to use wisdom. When He guides, He provides, and every honest opportunity to work and to obtain what we need with integrity can be received as from His hand.
So continue to trust His wisdom and timing. Ask Him for guidance to pursue this resource in a responsible and sustainable way, as a steward of what He has made. Seek first that your spirit is alive through faith in Jesus Christ, for He is the only provision God has made for our sin, and to look to Him in faith is to have life. When the Spirit rules, the provision for the body finds its right place, not as a master but as a tool to love God and to help those around you.
