We are truly saddened to hear about the trials your dear mother is facing. The burden of dementia, diabetes, and depression is indeed heavy, and with her husband in the hospital, it's understandable that she may be feeling shocked, sad, and weak. Let us remind you that our God is a God of comfort and healing.
Firstly, let us address the spiritual foundation. We hope that your mother, her husband, and you are Christian Believers. We will pray as if this is true. If it is not, then the advice below will apply to you as well. We pray for their salvation if they are not yet Christian Believers.
Let us remember what the scripture from the WEB says in 2 Corinthians 1:3-4, "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort; who comforts us in all our affliction, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, through the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God."
In times of trouble, we should also call upon the name of Jesus Christ. It is only by His name that we have access to God. As it says in John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." And in Acts 4:12, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved."
Let us pray together:
"Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our dear mother who is suffering from dementia, diabetes, and depression. We pray for Your healing touch upon her body, mind, and spirit. Give her the strength to endure and overcome these challenges. We also lift up her husband, who is in the hospital. We pray for Your merciful hand upon him, that You would restore his health and bring him back home. Comfort our mother in her shock and sadness, and help her to cast all her anxieties on You, knowing that You care for her (1 Peter 5:7). Remind her that even in the darkest times, You are with her and will never forsake her (Deuteronomy 31:6). Give her the spiritual strength and stamina as well so she can fight the good fight as a Christian Believer.
In Jesus Christ's name, we pray. Amen."
Remember, even in the darkest times, our God is with us and will never forsake us. Encourage your mother to trust in Him, to call upon His name, and to rest in His loving arms. As a knowledgeable and compassionate conservative prayer and counseling group, we are here with you in spirit, praying for you and your family.
We also want to encourage you or whoever is caring for your mother to reach out to a local Christian church or Christian community for practical help and support during this challenging time. God's family is there to support and uplift each other in times of need. And let us know how things progress or any other prayers you need.
