my niece

We join you in lifting up your niece before the throne of grace in Jesus' name and we thank you for bringing her to us for prayer in His name, for it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and find true comfort and hope.

We know how deep the pain of losing a father can be, and especially for a young heart this loss can feel overwhelming and leave a sense of emptiness and confusion. We grieve with her and with you, and we ask the Lord to surround her with His nearness and peace during this season of mourning.

Scripture reminds us that Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Psalm 34:18. We take comfort that God sees her tears and does not leave her alone in her sorrow. He is described as A father of the fatherless, and a defender of the widows, is God in his holy habitation. Psalm 68:5. Even as she feels the absence of her earthly father, we pray she will come to know more deeply the love and protection of her heavenly Father who will never leave her nor forsake her. Jesus Himself said I will not leave you orphans. I will come to you. John 14:18.

We also cling to the promise that Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. Matthew 5:4, and that He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. Psalm 147:3. Grief is a process and healing takes time, and we pray the Lord will give her permission to grieve while gently leading her toward hope. We are reminded that He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. Death will be no more; neither will there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain, any more. The first things have passed away. Revelation 21:4. For those who are in Christ, death is not the end, and we have hope of eternal life and reunion through Jesus.

We pray together for her now.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we lift up this precious niece to You. You know her name, her heart, and the depth of her pain over the loss of her dad. We ask You to wrap Your loving arms around her and let her feel Your presence as very near. Comfort her in her affliction as only You can, for You are the Father of mercies and God of all comfort; who comforts us in all our affliction. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4. Heal her broken heart and bind up her wounds, and give her peace that passes understanding. Help her to cast her cares upon You and to find rest in Your love. Even though she walks through the valley of the shadow of death, remind her that You are with her, Your rod and Your staff comfort her. Psalm 23:4. Strengthen her faith, guard her from despair, and surround her with godly family and friends who will point her to You and support her with patience and love. Draw her closer to Jesus through this sorrow and give her hope in the resurrection and eternal life for all who believe in Him. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue to walk closely with her, to listen with grace, to speak of the hope we have in Christ, and to encourage her to seek the Lord in prayer and in His Word daily. If her grief becomes very heavy, encourage her to seek counsel from a pastor or biblical counselor who can walk with her through this valley. We will continue to keep her in our prayers, asking God to bring healing, comfort, and renewed joy in His time.

We have been holding you and your niece in prayer since reading your request. Losing her dad is such a deep loss, and it makes sense she is having a hard time right now. Thank you for loving her well and bringing her before the Lord, and for letting us pray with you.

One thing we have seen walking with grieving families is that grief is very personal and does not follow the same path for any two people. For children and teens it often comes in waves. She may want to talk one moment and be quiet the next, seem okay and then feel overwhelmed again. That back and forth is common, and she does not need to grieve on anyone else's timetable.

What helps most is steady, patient presence. When she does open up, just listening without trying to fix the feelings can be a real gift. You might let her know she can talk about her dad whenever she wants to, and that it is okay to remember him in small, natural ways if she chooses, like sharing a story or looking at photos together. Keeping gentle daily routines and staying connected with trusted family, teachers, or a pastor can also give her a sense of safety as she adjusts.

If over time you notice she stays very withdrawn, is struggling a lot with sleep or school, or seems stuck in deep sadness, it can be kind to connect her with a school counselor or pastor for extra support, alongside continued prayer.

Father, we lift this young woman to You in Jesus name. Surround her with Your comfort and nearness in her sadness, and give those who love her wisdom to walk beside her day by day. Hold her, guide her, and remind her she is not alone. Amen.

We have heard your cry for your ###, and we join with you in bringing her before the throne of grace in Jesus name.

There is trouble enough in every house, and there is great need to pray that our Father would comfort the hearts of His people in the hour of affliction. The Lord saith, Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, and full oft He sends His mercy to comfort some desponding heart with an aching wound. Your ### bears a sore loss in the death of her father, and we pray that the God of all comfort will draw near to her in this sorrow.

May she know that peculiar comfort which belongs to the afflicted child of God. As it is written, This is my comfort in my affliction, for Thy Word hath quickened me. It is not the letter alone, but the Spirit breathing through the Word which quickens the soul and so brings comfort. May the Spirit of God teach her to press the priceless Bible to her bosom and say, This is my comfort now. May she be led to more prayer, for it is great prayer that lifts up the cast down soul, and may she pour out her grief before her heavenly Father.

We pray that our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and God, even our Father, would comfort her heart and establish her in every good word and work. For is not this relation our comfort, that He is our Father. Let her hear the Father say, My child, I love thee, and let her cast herself upon His bosom with her sorrow. There is comfort enough for all saints in our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, who knows our griefs and bears our sorrows.

We ask the Father that He would give her that peace which time alone cannot give, but which cometh from His eternal Word. Though now her misery seems as deep waters, may she be sustained till she can remember it as waters that pass away, and may she learn to say, Father, I wait Thy daily will, Thou shalt divide my portion still.

We commend her to the Father who pitieth His children, and to the Son who will not break the bruised reed nor quench the smoking flax. May He keep her, quicken her, and comfort her till death and heaven reveal the rest.

Our Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Thy Son, look upon this dear one who mourneth for her father. Comfort her heart, quicken her by Thy Word, and establish her in Thy love. Let her know that Thou art her Father and that Thou wilt not fail to cheer her in her distress. Grant her Thy peace, and keep her in Thy care, for Jesus sake. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
