My ### needs prayers

When my dad had his hernia surgery, the doctors discovered that he is experiencing afib with his heart again. He has a doctor's appointment tomorrow where they are going to look into it and see what the next step is. I'm asking for prayer that everything goes well, and that if he does have to have surgery that God protects him and heals his heart so that he can live, he is the only parent on earth I have left and I need him desperately. Thank you.

We are joining with you in lifting up your father before the Lord and we understand how heavy this feels especially after his hernia surgery and now learning that his heart is in afib again and with him being the only parent you have left on earth. We are carrying this burden with you to the throne of grace and we are asking God to bring peace to your heart as you wait for his appointment tomorrow.

We take comfort that our God is the great healer and our refuge in trouble. Scripture reminds us in Psalm 103:2-3 to praise Yahweh and not forget all his benefits who forgives all your sins who heals all your diseases and in Jeremiah 30:17 he says But I will restore health to you and I will heal you of your wounds says Yahweh. We also cling to Psalm 46:1 that God is our refuge and strength a very present help in trouble and to Isaiah 41:10 where he says Don’t you be afraid for I am with you Don’t be dismayed for I am your God I will strengthen you Yes I will help you Yes I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness.

We pray together now. Father we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear father to you. You know his heart better than any doctor or monitor does. We ask that you would guide the doctors tomorrow give them wisdom and clarity to see exactly what is happening with his afib and to know the right next step. If no further procedure is needed we thank you in advance and if surgery is required we ask for your hand of protection over him. Touch his heart Lord steady its rhythm heal what is damaged and sustain his life according to your perfect will. We ask that you would guard him from complications and bring him through with strength. And Father we also lift up his child who loves him so desperately and is afraid to lose him. Pour out your peace that surpasses all understanding upon them as Philippians 4:6-7 promises that when we make our requests known to God your peace will guard our hearts and thoughts in Christ Jesus. Remind them that even in this fear you have not left them alone and you are near to the brokenhearted as Psalm 34:18 says.

We want to gently encourage you about something we noticed in your request. You asked for God to protect and heal your dad which is beautiful but you did not mention the name of Jesus. We want to share how precious this truth is because it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. Jesus said in John 14:6 I am the way the truth and the life No one comes to the Father except through me and Acts 4:12 tells us There is salvation in no one else for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men by which we must be saved. It is because Jesus died for our sins and rose again that we can boldly bring our prayers for healing and also receive the gift of eternal life by believing in him and confessing him as Lord as Romans 10:9 teaches. So we bring this prayer in his name alone and we encourage you to keep calling on the name of Jesus not only for your father’s healing but for your own salvation and comfort.

We encourage you to keep trusting the Lord day by day with your father’s life. He is in God’s hands which are far more secure than any hospital or treatment plan. Continue to pray cast your anxiety on him and rest in knowing that whether through healing on this earth or ultimate wholeness in his presence God loves your father even more than you do. We are standing with you for a good report tomorrow for wisdom for the medical team and for complete healing for his heart and we trust God to give you strength and peace while you wait.

We can hear how much your ### means to you, and how unsettling it must have been to go in for a hernia repair and come out with news about his heart again. Waiting for tomorrow's appointment with that kind of worry is hard, especially when he is the only parent you have left on this earth.

We are praying with you for that visit, for clarity for the doctors as they look at the afib and decide on next steps, and for steady protection and healing for your ###'s heart. We are also praying for you, for peace in this waiting and for strength no matter what they recommend.

For tomorrow it can help to go in with a short written list: what the surgeon noticed, any symptoms your ### has had, his current medicines, and the questions most on your heart, like what options they are considering and what to watch for at home. If you can, go with him or have someone take notes so you can remember what is said afterward. And keep leaning on the Lord as you wait, bringing both your hope and your fear to Him honestly.

Father, we lift this ### to You and ask for Your mercy over his heart. Give wisdom to his care team tomorrow, guide every decision, and guard him with Your care. Comfort his child who loves him so dearly and hold them both in Your peace. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your burden has been laid before the mercy seat and we have carried your father and yourself to our gracious God in prayer.

We sorrow with you in this trial, for to see the heart of a beloved parent falter is a deep wound, and to feel that he is the only parent left to you on earth makes the fear the heavier. Yet hear what the Word declares for such as you, In You the fatherless finds mercy, and again, I will be a Father unto you, and you shall be My sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty. When the Divine Father is viewed aright He becomes the object of our gratitude, not of our dread, for He is our Father, our God, our Savior's Father and our Savior's God. He who said, He that has seen Me has seen the Father, has shown us that the love of the Father is in all respects equal to the love of the Son. You may therefore come with boldness and say, Abba, Father, for there is Heaven in the depth of that word, and plead that He will look upon your father in tender compassion.

We are told that the very leaves of the Tree of Life are for the healing of the nations, and that the least thing about Christ is healing. A word of His, coming home to the heart as His, brings healing to head and heart, and the Sun of Righteousness has risen with healing in His wings. There is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation. He heals the broken in heart and binds up their wounds, and none shall say unto the healing flood of His love, Up to here can you go and no further. The utmost length of human sickness can be reached by this great Physician.

We have prayed that the Lord, who numbers our days and holds our hearts in His hand, would preside over the appointment tomorrow. We have asked that He would give wisdom to the physicians, that He would guide every counsel and every hand, and that if surgery be required, He would protect your father and restore him. We have prayed that whether by means or by His own immediate touch, He would be pleased to heal his heart and prolong his life for your comfort and for His glory. And we have prayed that you both may be enabled to say with our Lord, Even so, Father, for so it seemed good in Your sight, knowing that He gives liberally and upbraids not, and that our heavenly Father will give good gifts to them that ask Him.

Cast your care upon Him, for He cares for you. Trust your father's heart, and your own wounded heart, to the bleeding heart of Jesus, for that heart alone can stanch its wound. May the Lord grant you peace in waiting, strength in praying, and a joyful experience of His healing virtue, whether it come by quiet restoration or by His blessing upon the means He has provided.
