Look for ways that YOU can treat him better. Pray that God will show you how to be the wife he needs you to be. Treat him with RESPECT even when he doesn't deserve it. Do those little things that you know he appreciates and avoid the things you know irritate. I know this is over simplified but treat him as if he is doing everything right and in the meantime keep praying so that he will come around.
An awesome book....which I won't lie, I had to FORCE myself thru the first 3-4 chapters...but then was wonderful is
Love & Respect: The Love She Most Desires; The Respect He Desperately Needs by Emerson Eggerichs. It definately put things in a different perspective than most self-help, christian marriage books. Simple suggestions with provocative results. For the non-reader or wanna be Prayer Warrior-Wife Extrordanaire I ALWAYS recommend Stormie Omartion's plethura of Prayer books, The Power of a PRaying Wife is a great place to start. Her testimonies are also very uplifting, and they set the tone for the prayer for you husband/marriage/self.
Lord, help us remember when we first met and the strong Love that grew between us.
To work that Love into practical things so nothing can divide us.
We ask for words both kind and loving, and for hearts always ready to ask for forgiveness as well as to forgive.
Dear Lord,we put our marriage into your hands.
We pray this Marriage Prayer in the name of Jesus Christ, - AMEN
