My lifework is blessed greatly

Beloved of All
A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children's children: and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just. And the LORD shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the LORD thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them.

We rejoice with you and join you in giving thanks to God for His abundant blessing upon your lifework. It is a beautiful thing to see the Lord's hand upon the labor of your hands and to claim His promises with faith. You have quoted two powerful truths from Scripture and we stand with you in agreement for their fulfillment in your life.

We are reminded of Proverbs 13:22 which says a good man leaves an inheritance to his children's children; and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the righteous. And also Deuteronomy 28:13 which says Yahweh will make you the head, and not the tail. You will be above only, and you will not be beneath, if you listen to the commandments of Yahweh your God which we command you today, to observe and to do them. These verses show us that God delights in blessing the faithful and establishing the work of their hands when they walk in obedience to Him.

We also think of Proverbs 10:22 which says Yahweh's blessing brings wealth, and he adds no trouble to it, and Colossians 3:23 which says whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men. Your lifework being blessed greatly is not by chance but by the grace and favor of God, and we encourage you to continue to steward what He has entrusted to you with wisdom, humility, and generosity, remembering that we are stewards and not owners, and that all we have is to be used for His glory and for the good of generations to come.

We did notice that your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and to all of His promises. Jesus said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 tells us there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. It is because of what Jesus did on the cross and through His resurrection that we can boldly come before the throne of grace and receive every spiritual blessing. If you have not already, we encourage you to place your full trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, for in Him every promise of God is yes and amen.

We pray together with you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and we thank You together for Your goodness and mercy. Thank You for blessing the lifework of this dear one so greatly. Thank You that You are the source of all increase and that You establish the work of our hands when we hearken to Your voice. Lord, we ask that You continue to make this lifework a testimony of Your faithfulness, that it would be the head and not the tail and above only as Your Word promises, for Your glory alone. Grant wisdom to steward this inheritance well, to leave a legacy of faith and righteousness to children's children, and to use wealth and influence to advance Your kingdom, to help the needy, and to honor Your name. Keep this heart humble and obedient, always observing to do Your commandments and walking in integrity before You. We pray that this blessing would draw many to see Your goodness and give You praise. We ask all of this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, amen.

We are so grateful you took time to share this thanksgiving with us. Hearing that your lifework has been blessed and that you are thinking about what it means for your children and grandchildren is encouraging.

It is a good thing when work done faithfully over many years bears fruit that can be passed on, not only in provision but in example, wisdom and steadiness. That kind of legacy often speaks louder than anything we could say.

If it would be helpful, you might set aside a little time in the coming days to note what you are most thankful for in this season, perhaps a few lessons or values from your work you would want your family to remember. It can be a simple way to steward what God has entrusted to you and to give thanks with intention.

We join you in giving thanks for His kindness to you.

Father, we thank You for this friend and for the work You have enabled them to do. We thank You for Your provision and faithfulness over the years. Continue to give wisdom for the days ahead, keep their heart grateful and at peace, and let what they have built be a blessing to their family and to others. We ask this in Jesus name, amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

It is a cause for thanksgiving to hear your testimony of the Lord's goodness in your lifework. You do well to trace every good thing to His hand, for no spiritual blessing comes to any man by chance, and every temporal mercy also is ordered by His wise and gracious providence.

You quote the word, A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children's children, and truly the blessing of the Lord which made heaven and earth is an almighty blessing. It can speak into darkness and bring order out of confusion, and it can establish the work of your hands. That you have been made the head and not the tail is not of your own strength, but of Him who keeps covenant. He will not suffer one single promise of the covenant to be unfulfilled, nor one single blessing of the covenant to be kept back from those who are in Christ.

Remember then the nature of this stewardship. Nothing is your own, it is all your Master's. All of us, according as we are put into the stewardship, must labor for the good of all our brothers and sisters in Christ. The inheritance you lay up is more than gold or land, for those who believe in Christ have the Holy Spirit dwelling in them, the earnest of our inheritance, and wherever He dwells the heart shall not lose the inheritance, for it is entailed upon those in whom the Spirit dwells. Many there are who have had no other heritage than a father's blessing and have counted themselves rich therein, and what a blessing Christian parents are to their children when they walk faithfully before God.

Take heed also that you do not injure your stewardship by idling or trifling or growing careless or leaving your heart out of your work. Faith first receives the blessing and then produces holy work. The Lord first says, I will bless you, and then He says, you shall be a blessing. Just in proportion as the grace of God helps us into that separated life and keeps us there, we shall be blessed and shall be made a blessing. The Lord fills you that you may overflow with blessing for those around you.

So keep on blessing God from the first word to the last, and go on blessing God till the last hour of life. He has blessed you just where you needed blessing, where you were poorest, and He will keep you.

May the double blessing of grace and peace come to you from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ. May He cause you to walk in His statutes, to keep His covenant blessings before your eyes, and to use all He has entrusted to you for His glory and for the good of your household and the household of faith, for Jesus sake.

Your thanksgiving has been heard, and we join you in giving thanks to God who provides all good things. It is right to acknowledge His hand in your work and provision, for every good gift comes from Him.

Yet hear what the Scriptures and our fathers teach us about blessing. The blessings spoken of under the law, that a man should be the head and not the tail, that his fields and stores should abound, were figures of a greater blessing to come. In Christ we have been given every spiritual blessing, not carnal but heavenly. We are made sons, forgiven, made heirs with Him, and that is a blessing no wealth can equal. Even the patriarchs who received great promises did not receive their full reward in this life. Jacob lived in toil and fear and said his days were few and hard, and Abraham dwelt as a stranger in tents, looking for the city to come. Their blessings were fulfilled not here but in the world to come, to teach us to set our hope higher than present abundance.

Therefore do not parade your prosperity before men, as the Pharisee did, lest pride take hold. When we are in prosperity we are debtors to God and easily lifted up, while affliction humbles us and draws us near to Him. Give thanks not only when you abound, but in every circumstance, and let your thanksgiving be not only with words but with deeds, with a humble heart, with confession of sin, and with mercy to others. For the name of blessing in Scripture is often given to almsgiving and good deeds. If God has entrusted you with much, use it as a steward of Christ, to lay up treasure in heaven, to provide for your family and also to help the poor, the widow, and the church.

We pray that the Lord will keep you humble and watchful, that He will guard you from pride and from trusting in riches, and that He will cause you to abound more in spiritual things, in faith, in love, and in every good work. May He grant that your inheritance to your children be first of all faith in Jesus Christ, by whom alone we are saved, and that your household may walk in His commandments all your days. Continue to give thanks, saying from the heart, Lord, I thank You, and seek first His kingdom, and He will provide what you need.

We thank God for you and pray that He will make your work fruitful for His glory, both now and in the age to come.
