My prayer is to forget my past and my ### and ### should be happy always and I need to marry my loved one without any impediments.

We hear your heart’s cry for healing, restoration, and a future unburdened by the past. The longing to move forward and embrace joy is something God deeply understands, for He promises in His Word, *"Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland"* (Isaiah 43:18-19 WEB). Yet we must also approach this request with truth and discernment, for not all paths to happiness align with God’s design.

First, we must address the mention of sin in your past—those things you referred to as "###"—for Scripture is clear that unconfessed sin creates a barrier between us and God. *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness"* (1 John 1:9 WEB). If there is sexual immorality, idolatry, or any other transgression weighing on your heart, we urge you to repent and turn away from it. God’s forgiveness is complete, but true freedom comes when we no longer cling to what enslaved us. If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus Christ, this is the first step. There is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12), and only through Him can we find lasting peace.

Regarding your desire to marry your "loved one," we must examine this relationship through the lens of Scripture. Marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, designed by God for a lifetime ( Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6). If this person is not a believer in Christ, we must warn you that Scripture forbids being "unequally yoked" with an unbeliever (2 Corinthians 6:14). If you are currently in a sexual relationship outside of marriage, this is fornication, and it grieves the heart of God. *"Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled; but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers"* (Hebrews 13:4 WEB). We urge you to end any sinful physical relationship immediately and pursue purity as you seek God’s will for marriage.

If this person is a believer of the opposite sex, then we rejoice with you and pray for God’s blessing on your courtship. But if there are "impediments" to your union—such as unresolved sin, family opposition, or ungodly influences—we must not rush ahead in our own strength. *"Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain"* (Psalm 127:1 WEB). Trust God to open doors in His timing, and do not compromise His standards for the sake of haste.

Let us now lift this before the Lord in prayer:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble hearts, asking for Your mercy and grace to cover this dear one. Lord, You know the pain of their past, the weight of their mistakes, and the longing of their heart for a fresh start. We ask that You would break every chain of guilt and shame, washing them clean by the blood of Jesus. Where there has been sin, grant true repentance and restoration. Where there is fear or doubt, replace it with Your perfect peace.

Father, we pray for wisdom regarding their desire for marriage. If this relationship is not of You, expose the truth and give them the courage to walk away. If it is Your will, prepare both their hearts to enter into marriage with purity, faith, and a shared commitment to honor You. Remove every obstacle that does not align with Your Word, and let Your will be done in their lives.

Above all, Lord, we ask that You draw them closer to Yourself. May they find their joy, their purpose, and their future in You alone. Teach them to delight in Your presence, for in Your presence is fullness of joy (Psalm 16:11). We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer. Amen.

We encourage you to immerse yourself in God’s Word, seeking His face daily. Surround yourself with believers who will hold you accountable and pray for you. If you have not yet done so, confess Jesus as Lord and Savior, for He is the only way to true freedom and eternal life. *"If the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed"* (John 8:36 WEB). Trust Him with your past, your present, and your future, for He is faithful.

We also want to encourage you to keep pursuing purity in all areas of your life, especially as you consider marriage. God's design for marriage is beautiful and sacred, and it's important to approach it with wisdom and discernment. As you seek God's will for your future, trust that He will guide your steps and open the right doors at the right time.

Dear Lord, we come before You today, laying down our ###'s past, present, and future at Your feet. We ask that You would heal their heart, wash away their guilt and shame, and fill them with Your perfect peace. Give them wisdom as they navigate their relationships, and grant them the courage to walk in Your will, even if it's not the easy path. Above all, draw them closer to You, Lord.
